Description
This is my first painting in over one year, and is another tribute to the movie 'Bram Stoker's Dracula'. There's no such scene in the movie actually, but I really loved the make-up and costume they created for Gary Oldman. Composition is entirely my own, though.Medium: Indian ink, Water colour, Gouache, Pelikan white-out.
Time taken: 4 hours (with breaks for lunch, coffee, etc).

Beautiful! You've put a lot of emotions into the characters with your technique. Gary Oldman is t3h Dracula!

Yes, he's the best Dracula in my opinion, too!

Sudhamaya, its just that this idiot and I are friends almost since toddler days. And we share a healthy rivalry. (Maybe because he used to loot my tiffin-box.) So couldnt help trying to be his best critic. Just having fun though and consciously indulging in my neuroses. Don't take this to heart.

The reply was partly directed towards you. It was an expression of pent up burning passions for you boyzo. And about that victorian prudery thing, I am supposed to be a student of literature. I forgot you are that updated. Thing is I had been reading Shelley's Prometheus Unbound. And it is keeping my head filled. Not boasting. Sharing son.

Bravo. Dracula looks like a antihero rather a villain..Sort of a Prometheus. A good way of looking at it. I hope you understand dear boy. Its my perception, but knowing you I would say you have consciously or unconsciously brought that image out.

Dracula IS an antihero, idiot! Re-read the book, and get the subtext! he was Irishman Bram Stoker's answer to Victorian prudery and sexual hypocrisy of the British genteel class of his time.

Art critic I am not
Gyaan I can give a lot
What I really liked about your drawing
Was the background and the inking
And the idea that emotions were wrought.
Ok, so guess who?
I liked the background....reminded me of the exressionists...and the sort of smokey effect made me think of the poses by Dali in most surreal movies...

And emotions are wrought right,
Dracula and his righteous pride,
And by his heart's right,
Shall not Dracula have his bride?
Thats your second poetic compliment.
