Graphite and oils is a really interesting combination... I like what you've done with it.

I only found out recently, but a ton of artist actually will do a full detail graphite drawing under their painting, I had no clue that could be done! Though, I only use thin glazes over my work, instead of finishing it with thick brush strokes.

I would have worried that it would deaden the colour too much. But it didn't do that here, it just gives it a watercolour-like translucency. I learned to do burnt sienna underpaintings for my oils, but you have to be careful in the bright areas that you don't lose the opportunities for the white base glowing through any coats on top.

with oils, you can always make things brighter with more opaque colors, for a cool tone, titanium white, and a warm one is yellow ochre and mixing titanium white. As long as the last layer of oils is dry, it can be the most forgiving medium. I have learned that doing a burnt sienna underpainting gives the warm tone of a painting, and that it is easier to cool areas off from a warm underpainting than it is to warm areas from a cool one, which is why its a very common thing.
The graphite does grey out some of the colors that I use, but to me, I really like that look. I use fixative to keep the pencil from mixing too much with the colors as well.

This looks so soft and ghostly. She seems to merge with her surroundings

Thank you so much. I had her blend with the forest because she is a part of the forest.
