Description This old man sitting outside a gambling parlor on a hot day had to give me a good once over as I was wandering around his neighborhood, probably wondering what a foreigner was doing way the heck away from everything. Not many β€œlao wai” (loosely translated means foreigner) travel outside the touristy areas and many Chinese people will take great interest in you and strike up a conversation or simply follow you around for miles.

Hah. BUt i love the non-touristy areas of foreign countries. I believe that that's where the richness of culture comes from... which gets me frustrated, because my relatives in the Philippines always bring me to touristy areas anyway. >:T

I like this shot. Old people are great for taking photos. They tend to look directly at the camera and their life experience always shows through in their eyes and expression somehow. Plus it reminds me of old ladies in England playing bingo on a thursday night.
