You know photography has taken over too much of your life when you are willing to do this, ooooooh goodness…Well…yes…I was in a park, and there was a tree, and there were some bees, and there was a beekeeper, and there was me, with camera, doing something very dumb. A quick flick of the macro button and I proved just how crazy you can be taking photos.
I wanted to get in closer but because the bees moved so much the auto focus kept messing up, so this is what we got to settle for. So, about 5 inches from the swarm of thousands of bees, no protective gear, and taking photos
the things we do for our craft…This is just another one of those totally random photos that I thought I would stick up here, no real tie to the rest of work, just something I thought I was share, a testament to how foolish I can be.
ps. im violently allergic to bees

ah but lucky for you, bees tend not to attack and sting unless they feel like they are being attacked or threatened. although if you are allergic to bees... eep. o_o;;

heh, ill do my best, but its kinda comes with the job you know? In a few days when it gets really hot ill go back there and take a few more closer shots, just have to remeber not to touch them with the lens and not to use any flash at all (not that ive used the flash on my cam in the last few months)

i really love this masterpiece. currently i read a book about professional macro-photography by gilles martin, and i saw something similar in this book. that's the reason why i know how hard it is to get such a picture (and of course how DANGEROUS, even if you're allergic!!!)

ive never had to go to the er or anything like that, but a few years back I got stung on the hand and it turned colors, and on my hand still is a little bump that reminds me of how many colors my hand turned before the swelling went down
