I'm interested, how do you actually make these? Are they drawn by hand and scanned? What method do you use to achieve such a clean overall finish?

Well, I use a mix of colored pencils and sharpies, and then once they are ready to be uploaded, I scan them into the computer. Usually, the scanner takes out some of the sharpness, so I bring it into photo shop to change the levels, which usually brings back the drawing's original colors. Then I just clean up any specks or lines with a regular brush and upload them.
