Here’s Derpy with my new pony design! I spent months working on this on and off trying to get the hair right, but now I think I’m happy with it. Or at least, it’s good enough that I want to move on now lol. With this style it’s all about getting the general gist of the shapes right and stylizing what doesn’t fit with what Lego can do, which is a balance I’m still getting the feel for. Derpy is pretty similar design-wise to the Twilight model I built in this style, but with a slightly different pose just to change things up a bit because I can Her tail is mounted on a hinge as well, so technically she has some poseability. I decided to build Derpy largely because the shield pieces I used for wings here are actually available in grey, so if I refine this design a bit I might be able to theoretically build a real version of this.
