Hewow there

Ive been working on this for some weeks. This is only the second time ever ive done something like this, once of myself.
I cannot tell you his name, but I will show you his face. The face of a friend ive known for years. He was known and loved by many, even since middle school. He was always the one to make us laugh, no matter how bad the day. He always kept smiling, even though a drugged father. He always chose to do what was right, even from the pressures of family. He was a beautiful soul, and still is. It was far too soon for him to go. Here is a poem that makes me think of him.

I sit around and wonder

and watch the days go by.

I look at all the pictures

and ask, why did you have to die?

You've always been there for me,

because you were my best friend,

and I was always there for you

until the very end.

But now it's time to let you go.

Your spirit now is free,

even though you won't really be gone,

because you'll live inside of me.

So when we have to leave you

at your resting place,

I will always remember

your smiling, beautiful face.

This is hardly a goodbye,

so I won't weep anymore,

because now you're in better place

than you ever were before.

Even though I will miss you,

and I'll think about you every day,

you'll always be my best friend,

and that's all I have to say.

I know its cheesy to have a poem, but that's the only why I can truly express my feelings. In the moment it hurt, and it hurt deep. But ive come to realize that he would not want us to be sad, he would much rather see us smile, smile for him, for the good times. I've come to realize, that the good do die young, and he was the best of us. Thank you my friend, my dear friend, for all the joy you spread, and all the good you did. I love you, and I wish I had gotten to say that.
