Here is how I believe that Springtrap became Scraptrap after FNAF 3 and before FNAF 6.
After escaping the fire of Fazbear's Fright Springtrap (William Afton) was a little bit burnt and damaged as he lost his left arm and his suit got too burnt and broken that it might fall off on day. He was going to let any see him as a corpse zombie so he went off into the woods and later found the old and abandon Fredbear's Family Dinner which reminded him of the old and better days before the his crimes happened. When he got inside the building, he decided to look around the abandon place to refresh his memories until he went to parts and service where he found the old but less broken Spring Bonnie prototype suit and one of his victims with the flesh and skeleton remaining. He then decided to use it as a new identity for him as he took of the burnt parts of his suit and puts the prototype suit the his victims remains on calling himself Scraptrap.
