We all know that in 1923 just after the Grouping, the Peel Godred Power Company (a subsidiary of the British Aluminium Company), obtained powers to build a dam and hydro-electric power plant a mile or so northwest of the town. The Power Company had a disastrous effect on the MSR. Passenger and goods traffic to and from Peel Godred steadily fell and the mines closed one by one, until the railway was completely closed.But what if the Mid Sodor Railway never close down?
