                                                            Annabeth Chase ~ Chapter 1

I was sitting on the Beach, I sighed mentally as it reminded me of Percy. It's been 3 years since we defeated the Titans, 3 years since I kissed him, not because he might die in the next 10 minutes and I liked him, but because we had one, and I really loved him, 3 years since we were just friends, 3 years since everything changed.
Me and Percy were the leaders of our cabins (Percy was still alone in his), and Chiron gave us jobs to do or let us direct some of the activities. It was a great life, we were both year round campers now except for last year, I went to France and Percy was going to go but he had to help his dad rebuild his palace, which was almost complete, regardless of how much he complained.

Now the reason for my sighing is the fact that Percy is over a week late and that's not like him, I mean if anyone should know how good he is with deadlines, it was me. I decided that there was nothing I could do about it, I mean I don't even know where he might be other than in the ocean somewhere, and I couldn't really work with that. The sun was setting and the conch horn blew for dinner, I was hungry and bored, so I decided to go.

I woke up with the buttery yellow light of morning coming through my curtains, I looked at the clock and it said it was half past 10 in the morning. Why didn't anyone wake me up for breakfast, I have no idea. I went out to the beach to design my dream house I started designing the basic outline, it started to look a little like a house might in the city of Athens. Right as I started the pillars someone came up behind me.
"Hey there Wise Girl, guess who" he said and as he came up from behind and put his hands over my eyes. Yay! It took everything in my power not to squeal and throw my arms around him.
"Hey Seaweed Brain," I said and as he pulled his hands away I turned my torso around and kissed him with abandon, "I missed you so much," I whispered against his lips.
"Yea, but I bet I missed you more." He whispered against mine. After that we sat on the beach in silence for a while as I drew and he watched, he loved to watch me draw.
After I was done working in the house and started working in the landscape (just as important as the building itself) he said: "what are you drawing?"  What I was drawing was my dream house to raise a family in with Percy and pets and so much more, but I couldn't tell him that, I couldn't tell him that I wanted a family at 19. So I told him part of the truth.
"It's a house…" my voice trailed off in thought he seemed nervous like he was working up the nerve to say something, or like he was nervous. I didn't ask because, knowing Percy, it was something he was likely to tell me at one point or another sooner or later.

A few days after he first got here he explained how he was late because he was trying to talk his dad into building a vet for sea creatures, he got him to say yes but he and Tyson had to build it. After that I went to my cabin, it was late and we weren't supposed to be up so I went to bed. After I took a quick shower, brushed my hair, the usual, I laid down, but my head hit something hard. I looked over to see what it was.
"A bottle? ," I whispered. There was a note in it on old looking browned paper,so I took it out and read:

My Dearest Annabeth,
I love you with all my heart. I'll always be there for you, through great times and bad, whatever life may throw at us. Since we have been together my life has been better than I could have imagined in my wildest dreams. I want to grow old together and never live another day without you. Will you marry me?

Of corse I thought, why wouldn't I, it was so romantic and loving, I didn't know he could be that romantic! When I see him next I'm going say yes one million times and more, oh he was so awesome. I loved him so much. Then I thought, I know a better way to say yes.
I wrote on the bottom of the letter 1 simple word.

                                                                      Yes

Tomorrow while he was at archery I would put the bottle on his pillow and let him find it.
