appearing to scream
  she wears her tears on her sleave
    and her heart on her heels
i can hear her heart beating
  throbbing while she walks away
    and she had to walk all over me to do it

      i had to be in her way

i put a picture of her in my wallet
  right next to the three washingtons two lincolns and one benjamin
because i wanted to give you the best
  so i present you with these presdents
    hope they keep nice company
      in my right pocket
                                 where i know theyll stay
she was a fifty caliber bullet
          in the barrel of a BB gun
wihsing the hammer would just engage
         and begin this process of combustive exploration
she longs to be a broken cylinder
         smoking hot
                            but useless

he gave life his all
     when all his life gave him
                a happy heart
                and a smile from ear to ear

but he punched his pillow so hard
it gave him headaches when he slept

and she got high and drunk
off the life she bade it to be

but she came down off her high
     and into his arms
           and the angels sang
                  ...like they knew
