Hey just a heads up everyone: I created this comic when it was revealed at the SDCC mlp panel that fluttershy has a brother. I even drew this up wayyy before season 6 began airing and wanted to play off of this idea for fun
hince why Fluttershy's brother in this comic looks and acts nothing like her canon one. Lol I guess this one's just an au version for fanfics now!! Have More FlutterBro !!
btw, sorry that fluttershys words are hard to see...I didn't take into account the lightness of other computer screens

I've always thought they should employ former Power Rangers like Mr. Bosch to voice young adult roles (i.e. same age range as Shining Armor or Big Mac), but most realistically they would reuse one of the three actors voicing a stallion in that age range (Andrew Francis - who does Shining Armor, Michael Daingerfield - who does Braeburn, Peter New - who does Big Mac) for this kind of character instead.

It depends on the particular scenario. We don't know ANYTHING about Fluttershy's parents, for one thing. They could be dead (like AJ's are supposedly). They could be separated/divorced and the siblings were split apart as a result. We also don't know when Rainbow and Fluttershy first met.
Long story short, we don't know enough about Fluttershy's past to even assume Rainbow already knows about the brother.

Well, true. We did see in "The Cutie Mark Chronicles" that they at least knew each other. Rainbow Dash was possibly just sticking up for a filly she didn't know (like when she stood up for Gilda at flight camp)

The feeling I have about Fluttershy's brother, is, that he is maybe the (or one of the) reasons why Fluttershy is so shy and has such a low self-confidence, because he is one of those mean and cruel older brothers who always give their little siblings a hard time, by mocking them, insulting them and beating them up.
This would also explain why Fluttershy never told anypony about her brother (well, IF she never told anypony, she might have done so, there happen a lot of things off-screen, after all): Because she is afraid of him and just wants to forget her past with him.

You do realize that it isn't a plothole and neither contrived just because we didn't hear of him earlier, right? As I said, a lot of things happen off-screen and Fluttershy might have talked about him already and we just haven't heard that. And, of course, if she really never talked about him, then there is a reason for that. Like we found out the reason for it why Twilight never talked with her friends about her brother in the Season 2 Finale.

It would definitely be more interesting if the Fluttershy brother isn't "Shining Armor Mk II" or "Big Mac Mk II". Younger brother, younger half-brother, rouge/criminal older brother... there's a lot of interesting possibilities to use!
