Not to sound too dark, but I had a thought after seeing this involving a Salmonid sub-type based on the Alien movies' Chestburster where an Inkling gets bloated to this size, and as the Salmonid pops out, the Inkling bursts in the Salmonids' ink color as it leaps forward from where the affected Inkling's stomach faced when he/she burst.
