Thought this might make for a nice picture~
This was really fun to draw, mainly because I could play around with having lots of light sources and had very little restrictions on the poses. The idea for this drawing came from the group which occasionally gives out themes for artists who are looking to improve and be given feedback on their work. The theme this time was 'Space Games'. Even though Derpy and the Doctor aren't playing a game per say, they're having fun so it kinda fits
Starry sky texture was used on the background (I can't remember where I got it though.... somewhere on goggle....)Β
Also the main point of this drawing is to get some feedback on my ability/style so feel free to offer advise!

Well, you did well to be an amazing artist. Again, both you and the art, been an fanatic as both, that was been an amazing art. Plus, you journey and a true artist was just awesome, no? But, in true and true, the art was just, well, "Amazing art". I'm mean it too!!! See, you can try an say that you will, but a true artist will know that you can be an amazing artist. The art was awesome, you deviantart was amazing, an both are a kick-a%% is both. You can, easy, because a true artist will never be just "o.k". Be amazing, be awesome, be YOU.

Ponies is spaaaaaaace.
I really like the background in this image. It's detailed enough so that it is not just one color, yet subtle enough that it doesn't take away from the main focus of your image: Derpy and the Doctor. Did you also toss in a texture there? I definitely like it.
The shadows are coming along very well, especially the way you textured the fur on Derpy's chest. I think that using a bit more darker shadows to really define some areas would make the characters stand out a little bit more. May I ask what software you used to create this?

Yeah I was pretty happy with how the background turned out - and yeah, I did use a texture for the sky to make it look a little more spacey (it was a bit plain before I dropped it in 
I completely get what you mean about using darker tones to shade my work and I'll definitely experiment with using darker shadows in future.
Also I used Paint Tool SAI for the whole piece. Β Β

I'm not sure if SAI has this feature, but in Photoshop you can 'multiply' a layer to darken the colors on there. You can try something like that out.
Experimenting is always best. There's never a wrong answer.

Yeah. I've heard you can add "multiply" layer on SAI to make the colors darker. If I find a tutorial or something similar, I'll send it your way.

That is so adorable! Β I also like the light effects, and the texture you give the Doctor and Derpy's fur, it adds an element of physicality to your piece!
