SOULWINGS
As one of the oldest tribes in Pyrrhia, Soulwings have a rich history, although not all of it is very pretty. The royal family has a reputation for bloodshed. Even though Soulwings can live up to 1000 years, there has only been one queen that has ever dies peacefully, the first Queen of the Soulwings, Queen Scythe.

APPEARENCE
⥈ Soulwings can be any color, although their base color is commonly dark. They can have lighter colored patterns, but a light or highly saturated color as the base is rare.
⥈Most, if not all Soulwings have at least one mutation. Every Soulwing is unique in that way. Mutations can run through family bloodlines (such as the royal family).
⥈ Some common mutations include:
   Extra pairs of eyes/horns/ears/wings/ribs
   Extra claws/tails/limbs
   No/missing eyes/horns/ears/wings/limbs
⥈ Rarer mutations include:
   ⥇Feathers (unique)
   ⥇Missing Flesh (uncommon)
   ⥇Plant Overgrowth (uncommon)
   ⥇ Hair (rare)
⥇ Hooves (Rare)
⥇ Oddly shaped wings (eg fairy like wings)(uncommon)

⥈ Despite the fact that Soulwings can look so different from each other, there are a few things that EVERY Soulwing has.
   ⥇Soulwings, since their diet is comprised of mostly already dead prey, have a long head to help them eat. On the snout there are 3 small horns.
   ⥇All Soulwings have an exposed underbelly, where you can see the ribs. (This peculiar trait was caused by an animus curse)
   ⥇The ribs are concealed in an amber like substance that when applied to dead bodies, can preserve them forever.
   ⥇ The standard number of ribs is 12 (6 pairs)
⥇ Two cords with feathers at the end come from the base of the head. These feathers can never be destroyed and remain after death. Most Soulwings preserve these to remember lost loved ones, and others use them as trophies on who they have killed. The feathers aren't easily cut off from the cord.
⥇ Threefr like claws from the elbows and knees. They can be made of feathers or keratin (what claws are made of). The purpose of these is unknown, although many Soulwings believe these aid you on your journey to the underworld.
   ⥇ Most Soulwings are thing and nimble
⥇ Ridged scales and horns.

ABILITIES
⥈ Preserve dead bodies with the amber substance from the amber substance that protects their ribcage.
⥈ Ridged claws for fighting
⥈ Extended lifespan (1000 years average)
⥈ Can see in the dark

TERRITORY
⥈ Soulwings live on a small island off the coast of the kingdom of sand. If the Pyrrhia Dragon wore a necklace, their island would be the jewel.
⥈ The climate is very temperate, although its more hot.
⥈ There are patches of thick forest throughout the island.
⥈ There are two huge mountains on the island. The royal palace is on one, and on the other multiple villages sit on.
⥈ Wolves and a huge population of deer, squirrels and other woodland creatures live on the island. Soulwings mostly live off the already dead carcasses that wolves leave behind, or occasionally kill one themselves.
⥈ Vegetation and other berries can be found throughout the island.
⥈ The main freshwater source comes from the Scythe Delta, which breaks off into smaller streams.

ROYALTY
  ⥈ The current Queen is Queen Hazard, who lived up to her name by killing her mother at 6 years old. She is considered an okay queen, and is committed to rebuilding the tribe from a horrible incident thousands of years ago.
  ⥈ Hazard has a reputation for taking many lovers, but in reality they all just complain about their problems and are Hazards best friends.
  ⥈ Anyone can be the ruler, as long as they directly come from the royal bloodline. Soulwings have even had kings before. Cousins can only challenge for the throne if there are no other heirs are available.

CULTURE
  ⥈ Soulwings are festive, and have many celebrations to honor the dead.
  ⥈ Professions in the arts are highly regarded as many Soulwings host elaborate funerals and celebrations.
  ⥈ A lot of Soulwings wear jewelry and fabrics.
  ⥈ Many Soulwings believe in an underworld.

NAMES
  ⥈ Soulwings take naming very seriously, and sometimes don't name their dragonets until they're 2 years old.
  ⥈ Soulwing names are mostly based off traits, good or bad. Name themes are usually present in family lines. ( The royal family names all their dragonets after negative traits, eg Anguish and Woe)
  ⥈ Positive trait names could be like Amity and Love
  ⥈ Other names are death and soul related, usually in the form of a compound word to intimidate others. (eg SoulReaper, Deathfinder) (Like nightwing names but more death related)
