Description
Former K-Pop star Hae-won Kwan is one of the foremost heroes of South Korea. After she got a bit old for the K-Pop scene, Hae-won found herself lost, without purpose. All she'd done since her mid-teens was sing and dance and perform in videos or on stage. Now in her early 20's, she was the "old thing" and had to step aside for the "new thing". For a girl who'd desired nothing more than to be in the public eye, being washed up at such a young age was a bit hard to take. She tried acting of course, but found she lacked the talent and she lacked the motivation to move into a more traditional career. Despairing of her new normal, she looked desperately for a way, ANY way, to resume a life in the public eye. This quest took her to some strange and dark places and at last, with no choices seemingly left to her, she volunteered for an experiment in super-human augmentation. Shockingly, she survived. In fact, not only did she survive, but she was endowed with extensive control over electromagnetism. It was the miracle she needed, because now she soars above the Earth, fighting crime and performing acts of daring do as Tensor!
Hae-won does not wear a mask as Tensor, since that would defeat the purpose of her quest for celebrity. She also maintains the pink-white hair color she had during her performing days, so people would recognize her more easily. While Hae-won would have to admit her initial motivation was fame, she is no shrinking violet and will bravely face any threat. She hasn't noticed it, but the longer she acts the part of a hero, the less important public accolades have become as she finds the work very rewarding.
Tensor is a powerful energy controller, manipulating electromagnetic fields for various effects. Of course the most basic use of her powers is to affect ferrous metals, but she can also generate an electromagnetic pulse, throw damaging arcs of electricity, manipulate power grids and form "magnetic bottles" to contain a variety of particles and waves (such as radiation or anti-matter). Tensor can also manipulate electromagnetic fields to allow herself to fly. She has a top effective flight speed of about 200mph, since her physical body and reflexes still being those of a normal, athletic woman have limits. It's likely she could exceed the speed of sound easily, but the inability to breathe, air resistance and other damaging factors currently make the attempt unwise (at best).

Nifty! I assume her "sponsors" will someday ask for a little favor?

Why take the time to empower a heroine if you can't ask for some preferential treatment every now and then?

Nice! I like it! her origin and story are quite unique. Her powers also open her up to alot of different scenes and ways to use her powers which is very cool!her costume reminds me of a more refined 90's Rogue outfit with the colour scheme but it has its own touches which makes it awesome. Pink hair suits her!

I approached Tensor similarly to how I approached her teammate Shadowpuppet, which is...I wanted to do something a little different when it came to her presentation. First, there are very few Korean heroes around (in the US) and most of them seem to fall into the same basic niches that plague Japanese heroes (in the US), which are "ninja heroes", "samurai-type warrior heroes", "genius inventor heroes" or most commonly "solar/nuclear heroes". Magnetic heroes are pretty uncommon to begin with (Polaris, Cosmic Boy and of course the most famous anti-hero/villain; Magneto) and I thought it would be a nice change of pace to apply an unusual hero type to an under represented cultural group. Her status as a former K-pop star struck me on a whim, because it seems to me K-pop stars have an even shorter shelf life than western studio created boy/girl groups like the Spice Girls or Danity Kane and I figure not all of them would "go quietly into the night". The pink hair was actually the second thing I knew this character would have. As I imagined her, I decided that she'd be a magnetic hero and immediately, before any other costume elements came into play, before I'd even researched a good name for a magnetic hero, the pink hair popped into my brain.
