Description
I was at a soaking retreat and we were walking towards our next 'activity' station as a group. I never got to personally meet this couple but I thought they were so cute.Because of the nature of Kam Tin Village (the oldest village in HK) the people are extremely sensitive to the activities of the 'gwai lo-s' (foreigners) that come to the village - we were told not to show any overt displays of affection - "tone it down" so to speak - because we didn't want to raise any villager eyebrows ^_^
Still, I liked this perfect little picture of affection. Its a bit blurry (sigh) well, it was a fleeting moment after all ^_^
I also like how the guy meeting them is wearing a shirt with a heart. Awww....

HAHA. It was. I was just walking through it - not a photo walk mind you - a real walk. I wish I had the liberty to just stand at that particular side walk at that time of the day - the sun sets right there -- making quite a spectacle out of the villages' old walls.

That village is a little ways off from where I really live. But I'll make sure to get that shot when I go there again (I can't remember people's phone numbers/birthdays and i can't remember my own schedules sometimes; but I will always remember a 'shot waiting to be taken' ^_^

ah sign of a true photographer !!!
for me though, the more I plan a shot, the more unhappy I tend to be with the result!

Hmm... I never really 'lan' a shot. I take 'notes' - I see something and have that 'tingle' telling me - that would make a good subject. I don't make compositions in my head or think of angles right away.
When I do get the time, I usually take a hundred and one photos of the same thing just to capture the image, I believe, had beckoned to me in the first place ^_^
What can I say, I think as a photographer, I truly believe in destiny ^_^

*sigh* Its really just a manifestation of certain OC (Obsessive Compulsive Tendencies) of mine. As well as the fact that I get really 'fixated' on things that capture my interest.
When I'm on one of my 'hotoventures' where I have the luxury of taking as many pictures as I want - for as long as I want, I take a million and one photos of the same thing (different compositions). But I'm getting better I think, in time.
Especially because I'm getting better with the technicalities of taking photos - so my photos aren't overexposed or underexposed anymore HAHA.

yeah! it's the orthodox way to go about it! ...simple basics all pro photographers would give aspiring photographers!! ordinary things can look stunning when captured at the right angle with good lighting!
I had read the same thing many times, but it got pushed out of my head you know!... I'm glad you refreshed my memory!! I'm really starting to get serious about my photography now that I got a dslr!

OOH! You've crossed the threshhold then? Gawd, this is the time when things get a bit manic - word of advice, get what you NEED not just what you want - in terms of equipment.
Think of what you'll use it for - and for how long.
Lenses are tres cher (very expensive - french)... Photography is definitely a rich man's game! HAHA.
But it could be a working class wo/man's game too - a saving working class HAHA - like me!
