Oh lookie here, I actually drew something that isn't a Sonic character. And it looks decent too– //slapped
All jokes aside, I have not forgotten about my promise to draw Nephele~
And if anyone thinks that the Phoenix is behind her, then you're wrong. 
Pekoy has a tendency of roosting on Nephele's head, so he can act as both a watch-bird and a heater for the Jackalope as she goes from place to place in the town of Pei-Ning, where a majority of my characters live in.Though the Elementalist series was supposed to focus on the variety of Elements that we can find in the fantasy genre, I've decided to include non-Elemental characters such as Nephele into the series, cause why not?
Protective bubbles is a form of magic, so that's my only reason why Nephele is in the series. After all, not everyone can be a fighter.Do tell me how well did I do for Pekoy.

It's normal for her friends to see her with a rather sad look on her face. She's not the most confident person around, so it's no surprise that she would be such a timid Jackalope. And yes, I might've prettified her hair in this picture.
But chicken?! >:u Who are you to call him, a majestic phoenix (that awfully does resemble a chicken in terms of colour scheme... which was not supposed to happen) a chicken?!?

Well, I think you did drew a Sonic character, just one that isn't in the games.
I don't really understand why you choose to add the fineliner line while leaning so strongly on coloured pencils. It breaks the picture for me; color and line art are seperate things that should be treated accordingly.
The effect of the phoenix behind her works against the overall composition, suggesting that the character is about to catch fire. It also lacks a feeling of scale; Is it close behind her? Is it big, or small? If it is on her head, why isnt there any effect of the light that is emitted by the Phoenix? Details such as these, help art to get alive, and take it to a next level.
I must also comment on the pose, which lacks certain decisions. I cannot entirely fathom if the picture suggests a humble, shy atmosphere, or if the chracter is afraid and backing down from a threat.
The background you wrote does help a lot to explain the idea behind your work. I feel elements of the Blaue Reiter art movement from Germany, as well as the philosophical ideas of Jonathan Locke, world famous!

I must thank you so very much for the in-depth comment and critique on my picture, sir. You have no idea how thrilled (and surprised) that you'd even mentioned of the type of pen I'd used for this picture, even if these two don't exactly go well with each other.
In all honesty, I don't aim to become as great the artists that you've mentioned, for I prefer to keep art as a hobby rather than to take it rather seriously. Though I must thank you for the suggestion of adding scale and composition to my drawings, such as how the Phoenix was supposed to be sitting on top of my character's head rather than behind her, sir. It is something that I struggle with, but with time and practice, mayhaps I would be able to achieve it.
