Description
Acrylic over gesso over MDF board.60x50 centimeters / 23.6x19.6 inches - 1/2 inch thick.
March 2017.
Remake of an ancient piece from 2011.
I wanted to do it since a long time ago, and I finally did it.
A Saturn-like planet as seen from one of its moons, which circles around it in a polar orbit.

Makes you wonder how any primitive species living there would worship this "circled goddess" that populates their horizon...

Yeah, I have wondered the same. Even interstellar human colonists might start worshipping it, in case they regress to a primitive state.
I think humans would see it as an eye, maybe the eye of God. In any case, I think such a wonderful and awe-inspiring object would have a great and positive impact in the development of astronomy in any primitive culture, human or otherwise.

This looks so pretty, I love the colours used as they add to an "otherworldly" vibe. I really like how you drew the ringed planet from above, very nice and realistic.
