I really like this style of black and white, looks great. Whats your light source?? I've kinda been in the black and white moodβ¦..and all I have to use is outdoor lighting. Theres not very many good windows in my house and I really want to get this kind of effect on itβ¦.
oh, and your hair looks great by the way I got short hair recently, but sadly I don't have curly hairβ¦one of the few things I really likeβ¦butβ¦.anyway I like it much better then my long hair

Thanks! I got in a black and white mood too. I actually have two standing lights. One is placed nearly beside me on that lit side and the other was placed farther back behind me to light me from behind. MM, yes, I remember using widows for lights. Buying these lights really opens up a whole new world. You could also get a reflector which helps with any outdoor photography and it's cheaper than buying lights.Haha, and yes, my girlfriend was quite saddened when I cut off my curly hair but I think she's gotten over it now. it is MUCH easier to manage.

ah ok. theres such an interesting refection in the eye, are the lights vertical?? or more like a softbox?
yeah, haha went doing outdoor photography I use a "reflector" which, really is just a piece of foam core, but works pretty much the same. But mostly I've been doing self-portraits, and it's kinda hard to position everything and also to make sure it's not seen in the picture, so I only use one if I'm doing close face shots.

It was a soft box so that is what is reflecting. Haha, my original reflector was metallic computer siding. It weighed a ton and it made whoever was holding it so tired but it worked so well! And yeah, doing a self-portrait is so much more complicated then people think. So much running back and forth. I'd kill for a remote on my camera. I've got 10 seconds to click the button then run into position somewhere. Haha.

ooh my. that must be dreadful, it's hard enough just running back and forth, but you have to do it every 10 seconds?!?!? golly. The camera that I've been using has an intervalometer, which is nice since you set the number of pictures you want to take and the time in between. My dad did get one of those remote things, but I haven't used it a whole lot, half the time I'm to far away for it to kick in
ahhaha, computer siding?! HEY, whatever works though, eh?
you should get a remote, they're pretty cheap anyways. And you could probably get one of the off brands, since there all the same thing anyways, it just might not last as long.

Yeah, I haven't looked into remotes much but I probably should. Gah, no, My camera has a 2 second timer and a 10 second timer. SO 2 seconds is basically useless for me and 10 is just barely enough to get into position. Well we are like the Macgyvers of reflective lighting. haha

OOH good grief. How do you get the camera to focus right if it takes a single shot at 10 seconds?? it must be quite the challenge, hahah.
