Bryn groaned, waking slowly.

What happened?

She was about to speak some words to Valeri, until something loud, like an explosion sounded. And whatever it was, it knocked her out cold.

As rose to her arms, crawling until she made it outside, her eyes could make out blurry images, shaky ones. And some images were making themselves out.

Three figures. They didn't look like Valeri.

Valeri.

Where was Valeri?

Was she hurt? Or worse? She needed to know now.

She crawled out further away from the hole in the wall, until she heard voices. One belonged to a man, another one sounded different, almost monstrous, yet feminine.

She looked up to see one of the three figures, and as she got to her knees, she could see soldiers. And guns.

Guns pointed towards her.

She gasped, holding her hands up in response.

The soldiers steadied their firearms.

Her eyes widened. Then at that moment, a large shadow appeared over her.

She yelped as a slab of debris landed in front, along with a massive figure.

Her hands went up to her ears as she heard gunshots. As they hit the rock in front, she looked up slowly as she heard heavy breathing.

She gasped again as she saw the figure. A female. Heavily muscled, with orange skin and green hair. Her ears were pointed and her eyes were green like Bryn's, only they had a glow to them.

Not to mention, the attire, it was torn, scrappy, and eerily familiar--

No. It was familiar. The clothes.

Bryn nearly went white with shock as she immediately pieced it together. Her nose wrinkling as her sensitive smell picked up a hint of perfume.

"V-V-Valeri...??" She spoke.
