Description
What better way to celebrate the fact that I got some great art than adding some color to it?Anyway, the amazing 's made this picture for me in exchange for an icon (I still kinda feel like I pulled her leg
First picture I actually get to work on of my Pokesona. For those wondering, that's a Red Shard, not a Fire Stone hanging from his necklace. The reason for this is that Red Shards are Fire Stones in essence, and this way his strength increases in a similar way without the need to evolve (Or at least he like to think that way. The actual effects of Red Shards on Pokemon are still unknown, but presumed to be non-existent). It was also a gift from a really close friend and he treasures it deeply. The lace is constantly being replaced since it's prone to being burned/cut during a battle, but he always make sure not to lose the Shard.
Oh, and special thanks to for pointing out that the background looked too flat and suggesting me to add a few clouds as well as some sort of texture to the stone (You rock Sis!).
Materials Used: Photoshop CS3.

Good work! And that 'grainy look' makes it look more like actual fur, I think.

Thank you!
Yeah, it's that "grainy look" the one that gives pencil drawings that life .

Your Pokesona looks so strong and noble in this picture. Fantastic work on coloring it, I especially like the background.

Thank you, I think the artist really captured that even in the earliest sketches of this .
Could have come up with a better background, but I'm actually fine with this.

Hahaha, thank you.
I'm sure he'd appreciate it, but just to be on the safe side make sure you're not on "his" territory when you do it (Either that or bring him something to eat as well ).

O.o Wow! Colour really does add a lot to a picture! I like the fact that it hasn't covered up my pencil marks, and that shard looks so much better in colour. And your sister's right; the clouds make it look good, too.
lol, and you didn't 'pull my leg' ; as if I could make an animated icon myself *sarcasm sign*

Thank you.
Yeah, removing the lines takes away whatever "traditional" was left of the picture so I'd rather leave as much of the original as possible.
Hehe, the shard only has a pre-made glass effect, really basic but makes a great difference.
Oh come on, it's not even that hard, the sprite sheets with the frames are already here [link] and once you open the "Animation" window on Photoshop everything becomes pretty much self-explanatory .
PS: Wow, that was fast, I didn't even get the chance to get the link to the original's page yet o.O.

It does make a difference! makes it look redder and shinier
(Although for the record you coloured one of his claws red, but oh well, at least you're not the one who signed the wrong year )
I'm not very good with photoshop; I've never tried to colour anything with it, all i really know how to do is some editing for photos =/ . Let's just say I much prefer creating things with my hands than on the computer XD
And if you're talking about my speed in commenting, you just happened to have to luck of posting this just as I logged on and started checking my messages, hahaha
