TA-DA! If you read my journal on April 10th, you probably saw this coming
I made a Death Note cake! Yes, I know it's not the bet but please keep in mind this is the first shaped cake I've ever made, and my first time using fondant.
The cake itself was very crumbly, which is why it's kind of messy -__-
The cake is a chocolate buttercream (recipe from Barefoot Contessa), and it's frosted with some... Betty Crocker white frosting stuff.
The cover, pages, and text are all made from black and white fondant. (Yes, I did shape all the letters from fondant)
I know it isn't too impressive, but I'm proud of myself, for I think it was a good first try. I will definitely be practicing my cake decorating skills and I hope to improve

I am starting to decorate cakes and when I figured that out... MAN did they come out cleaner lol.

Also before crumb coating, I wait till the cake is room temp, or put it in the fridge wrapped in plastic wrap for about an hour.

Actually I looked it up on Google (because I do that kind of stuff too XD) and this picture of my cake was there next to a yaoi lxlight picture. I took this with honor.

They weren't *that* hard. Fondant has the same sort of consistency as play-doh, so if you could imagine it was like molding it out of clay

I actually made it awhile ago (like.. April-ish?) and I gave it to my friend for her birthday

woah nice job! ive seen homemade death notes, and i was like "this one is so messi---OMG IT IS A CAKE" this is really cool and delicious XD and letters are really nice
