Description
In the middle of Hyrule Field, there was you and Link, both riding Epona and about to get ready to do something. What was that something? Well, you had begged Link to teach you how to ride a horse, since you've never really ridden one before, being the indoors girl you were, plus, being in Kakariko village wasn't much of help to riding horses, since the town was too small and you were living there.

How Link was going to teach you how to horse ride was by using his horse, Epona. Epona was sweet, you knew that much from how she and Link had bonded and from how friendly she was to you, but you weren't sure how she was going to be while you were practicing riding her. You only hoped nothing bad would happen and that you wouldn't look ridiculous in front of your best friend, considering you had a crush on him from the day you had met him.

You were honestly excited, yet a bit nervous from the negative things you were thinking of you messing up. Soon enough, your thoughts had completely stopped as soon as Link had stopped Epona in front of the entrance of Hyrule Castle Town. You looked at Link curiously and asked, "Is this where we're going to start?"

Turning around to look at you with a smile, Link replied, "Yes, this is where we'll start. First, I'll have you ride Epona with me guiding you from behind, then we can try with just you riding her by yourself if we have time, is that okay with you, [Y/N]?"

Just thinking of Link being behind you closely caused you to blush lightly, you could even feel your ears start to heat up a bit. You tried to stop yourself from blushing and nodded towards him.

"Y-yeah, Link, that's fine with me."

With a bigger smile, Link jumped off Epona, then extended his hand out to you for you to get off yourself.

"Great! Then I think we should get started now," he said, while helping you get off Epona.

You carefully hoisted yourself back on Epona on the front where Link just was, while Link hoisted himself back up behind you, right where you were on her before.

"Okay, are you ready, [Y/N]?" Link asked while checking to see if you were in a comfortable spot.

You slightly situated yourself from this new spot, since you've never really been on Epona this way before. Once you were comfortable, you gave Link a nod and a small thumbs-up, looking at him and smiling brightly.

"All set~!"

With a soft chuckle coming from Link, thinking you were so cute, he began to give you the instructions.

"Alright, first, do you see that small handle on the front of the saddle there?"

Listening to Link's instructions, you looked in front of you and saw a small handle that looks like you could wrap your hand around. You gave Link a nod and replied, "Yes, I see it."

"Good, well that's where you can hold your hand on so that way, when Epona goes, you won't fall. Now grab onto that and I'll have Epona go, okay? Be sure to hold on tight and be careful."

Obliging to Link's request, you tightly grasped the handle on the saddle. Once you gave Link the call that you were set, he nodded and whipped Epona to have her go.

At first, Link made sure to have her go softly, so that way you wouldn't fall over and get hurt, plus, you weren't ready to go fast quite yet. You kept hold of the handle that Link had mentioned, making sure not let it go. Link looked at you and made sure if you were okay.

"Doing alright, [Y/N]?"

You gave your best friend a reassuring nod with a smile towards him.

"Yeah, Link. I'm doing okay!"

Link smiled at that and then informed you, "Well, I'm going to have Epona go just a little bit faster now. Each time you get the hang of how fast she's going, tell me and I can let her go faster, alright?"

With another nod towards Link, giving him the okay, he had made Epona go a bit faster, which made you a bit nervous as to not let go of the handle, but also excited and thrilled.

Soon enough, Epona was going at her regular pace. You were doing good so far and were getting use to this very quickly. You then told Link if Epona could go a tad faster than usual, wanting to try that out for once.

"Are you sure?" he asked you with a raised eyebrow, since he knows you're not too fond of Epona going fast.

With a reassuring nod, you said, "Of course! I would at least like to try it out, I'm having fun!"

Link couldn't help but smile at that, happy that you were having fun with this lesson.

"Alright then, but just be careful, okay?"

"Yeah, Link, I know," you told him with a small giggle, a small blush beginning to form around your cheeks.

Link was always so caring towards you, and you loved it a lot. It always made you blush at thinking Link was just so caring and protective towards you, though you didn't know that he loved you, which was one of the reasons why he was always like this.

In a flash, Link whipped Epona again and had her go a bit faster. You yelped a bit at the sudden movement and held onto the handle tightly. Link took notice of this, and suddenly extended his arms out towards yours, grasping your hands in his so you wouldn't fall off or let go. You could feel his chest right against your back, and his head next to yours, making your cheeks turn an even brighter red.

"Are you okay?" he asked you softly right next to your ear, causing you to shiver from the close proximity. "Y-yes, Link, I'm okay."

You could feel a smile form around his handsome features next to your ear, and then he made Epona go a bit faster each time.

Soon enough, Epona was going as fast as she could at this point, and you couldn't help but smile widely at feeling the wind hit your face and go through your hair. You never thought you would enjoy it this much, being in a laughing, smiling fit at this moment. Link couldn't help but join in with you, feeling his heart thud against his chest at hearing your sweet voice laughing in the sweet air of Hyrule Field.

After quite a while of Epona running, you two had made it to the entrance of Lake Hylia. Link thought it was good enough to stop at this point, and have you ride by yourself now.

"We're about to stop, so pull back on the handle so Epona can stop, and hold on!"

Once again, you obliged to Link's instructions and did so, Epona abruptly stopping carefully so you and Link wouldn't fall. You hadn't tried this with Epona yet, so it had made you go unbalanced a bit.

"W-whoa!"

Link was quick enough to stop you from possibly falling, tightening his arms around your body.

"Be careful, [Y/N]! Are you okay?"

With a small giggle at Link's questions of wanting to know if you were okay, you nodded and turned to see him, smiling softly.

"Don't worry, Link, I'm fine. You're always wondering if I'm alright," you said with another giggle, causing the Hero of Time to lightly blush and scratch the back of his neck.

"W-well I want to make sure, since I don't want anything bad happening to you," he said while getting off Epona.

You giggled again at that and said, "I know, and it's really sweet of you, Link," while giving him a heart warming smile.

Link blushed a bit darker at that, cleared his throat to try to get his flustered expression and behavior away, and then said, "W-well, we've made it halfway through Hyrule Field. Do you think you can try riding Epona on your own, now? I can have her go her normal pace, and then tomorrow or so, you can try riding her faster like we did just a while ago, is that alright with you?"

With an excited expression on your face, you said, "Sure! That sounds fun, let's do it!"

With a chuckle, Link informed you to whip Epona like he usually does, and once you did, she began to move at a slow pace. You were a bit unbalanced at first, but you soon got use to it and got comfortable on top of her by yourself. Link smiled at how fast you were learning at riding Epona, and began to guide you and Epona across the other half of Hyrule Field on foot.

-Time Skip-

It was now sunset in Hyrule, with the bridge to Hyrule Castle Town closing, and the wolves beginning to howl in the air. You, Link and Epona were now at the lake where the entrance of Zora's Domain was. Epona stopped near the lake, and grazed the grass beneath her feet, while drinking some water from the lake after such a hard day of you riding her, not that she had minded of course.

You stretched your limbs out from sitting on top of Epona all day, whilst yawning from such a long day. You suddenly saw Link extend a hand out to you, a handsome smile on his face.

"You did great today, [Y/N]! I'm proud of you."

You couldn't help but blush at his compliment for you, while taking his hand and getting off of Epona. You stood in front of him and rubbed your arm sheepishly, your blush not going away.

"T-thank you, Link. I had a lot of fun today," you told him with a happy smile back to him. He grinned at that and patted your shoulder.

"I'm glad you did, I had a lot of fun with you today too."

Link began to sit down on the soft grass right beside the lake. He looked up at you and patted the spot next to him for you to sit down. You smiled down at him with a blush still present on your cheeks from what he said before, about him having fun with you today, and sat down right next to him, pulling your knees towards you and hugging them against your chest, and putting your chin on top of your knees.

Link looked up at the sky with a smile, seeing the sun set softly beneath the mountains.

"The sunset is beautiful tonight..."

You looked up at the sky yourself, seeing it setting slowly, creating the usual orange and yellowish color around the sky.

"It is pretty beautiful tonight," you agreed with a smile.

Link looked your way, seeing your smile glow with the setting sun. His smile turned soft, with a small blush appearing around his cheeks.

'But, it's not as beautiful as your smile,' he thought to himself, causing his heart to leap suddenly.

For a while, you two had stayed put on the soft grass, hearing the wolves howl and the birds lightly chirp in the air, with Epona next to you both and neighing softly in the air as well.

You hadn't noticed that Link was scooting closer beside you, since you were busy listening to the animals around Hyrule Field, and having your eyes closed, since you were growing quite sleepy at the noises and going through a long day. Soon enough, Link had carefully situated himself behind you, pulling you towards his chest and having you sit between his legs. Your eyes soon opened at the sudden touch from him.

You looked around to see that you were in between Link's strong legs, and then you looked behind to see him there. Link smiled softly towards you and whispered softly, "I hope you don't mind, [Y/N]."

With a soft blush appearing around your cheeks again, you smiled lightly back at him and answered, "I don't mind at all, Link."

You turned yourself back around, wrapping your arms around your knees again and placing your chin on top. You sighed through your nose and closed your eyes again. You could feel Link's heartbeat against your back, since his chest was against it and his soft breathing behind you, making your face heat up every now and then. Link cautiously wrapped his arms around your waist to have you closer to his body for some warmth, you didn't mind that at all though, he was the boy you had liked for so long, and you didn't want to stop him.

Link looked down at your slightly exposed neck, looking so soft and smooth. He had to hold back the urge to kiss you there, not wanting to make you uncomfortable or freak you out for that matter. But, he couldn't help but look at your neck every so often, just really wanting to kiss the nape of your neck and telling you how he felt about you by showing you.

Once he couldn't take it anymore, Link slowly moved his lips towards the nape of your neck, and softly kissed you there. Once his lips came in contact with your neck, you let out a small yelp and gasp at the same time.

"L-Link?"

"Mmmmm~?" Link murmured, while continuing to kiss your neck ever so softly, his behavior completely changed.

Your cheeks heated up so much more, your ears doing the same thing. Your heart began to pound against your chest and do so many leaps here and there. Your mind was in a mix, you weren't sure what to do or how to react from what Link was doing.

"W-what are you-"

"[Y/N]..." Link cut you off suddenly, stopping with his kissing actions. You looked behind you slightly to look at Link.

"Y-yes?"

Softly, Link turned you around half way to meet your gaze. You looked deep into his crystal blue eyes, seeing both passion and love filled within them. Link lifted up a hand to caress one of your warm cheeks, giving you a loving smile. Looking at Link this way, you wanted to kiss him so badly, but you weren't so sure of it.

As if Link had read your mind, he began to lean in towards your lips slowly. Your mind tried to process what was happening. Was this real? Was the Hero of Time really about to give you a kiss? With your cheeks the darkest red, you leaned in towards his lips and soon your lips had connected with his in a very passionate, sweet and soft kiss. Link held your body close to his, rubbing your lower back with his one hand, while the other was on your soft cheek.

Epona suddenly looked towards your and Link's way, seeing you two kiss each other on the soft, green grass. She neighed softly at that, her ears perking up and flicking every so often. She knew what was happening with you two, and she was happy that you two had finally decided to be together, if that was the case. She may be a horse, but she was a smart one at that.

You were suddenly laying down beneath the grass, with Link right on top of you. He pulled away from your lips and went back to your neck, softly kissing around it and wanting to get your soft spot.

"Words cannot express..." Link started, softly kissing your collarbone, causing a soft moan to escape your lips, "how much I love you, [Y/N]."

At that moment in time, you were so happy, happy that Link had feelings for you, and happy that you had ever met him.

-Time Skip-

It was now nighttime in Hyrule, and Link was walking you back to your home in Kakariko Village, hand in hand. The villagers who were still out and about saw you both, and began to murmur soft things about you two, wondering if you were now together.

Finally, you and Link were at the entrance to your home. Link looked at you and smiled, squeezing your hand softly.

"Would you like continue the lesson, tomorrow?" he asked, hoping you would say yes.

"Of course, Link. It was so much fun today, I would love to do it again tomorrow~."

Link was happy to hear those words, and couldn't help but hug you tightly around the waist and pick you up off the ground, twirling you around in the process. You yelped at that and went into fits of giggles.

"L-Link!"

He laughed alongside with you, listening to your laughter; it was beautiful, sweet music to his ears whenever he heard your sweet laughter, and he would always laugh along with you when he heard it. He put you back down on the ground and held you tightly, placing his forehead against yours.

"Sorry, I couldn't help myself there, [Y/N]. I just, love you. I love you so much and I'm so glad I could tell you this now."

A soft blush made it's way towards your cheeks and you giggled softly.

"That makes me so happy, Link. I love you too, I'm so glad I met you."

"Me too, [Y/N]."

Link proceeded to kiss you softly on the lips, but you both were halfway interrupted when a child yelled, "Get a room!!"

You both laughed at this and pulled away, saving the kisses for another time.

"I'll see you again tomorrow, [Y/N]. Good night and sleep well for me."

He then proceeded to give your head a quick peck before heading off. "I will. Good night, Link," you replied.

You watched as the Hero of Time walked out of Kakariko Village, your smile never leaving your face. Once you saw Link at the foot of the village's entrance, he turned himself around, gave you a soft wave, in which you returned to him back, and left the village.

With a soft sigh, you entered your home and went straight towards your room and got ready for bed, being quite tired after this day. Once you were in bed, you thought about the little session you and Link had beside the lake around the entrance of Zora's Domain. Your blush wouldn't go away from what had happened and you hid your face beneath the covers.

"Gods, I love him so much..."

You proceeded to get some shut eye for tomorrow, wanting to wake up in the morning and see him again. You wondered if Link could give you more horse riding lessons like this in the future, enjoyed this one and you enjoyed being with him especially. The Hero of Time was a great teacher at lessons, but also a great friend and lover towards you.
