It felt like those words came out of nowhere. Sure, he knew that the news about Ganon reached her ears, he knew that she believed every word of it, but it never seemed to scare her. She had once told him that while she believed that Ganon would be a formidable opponent, she knew that it would be defeated in the end. Revali took pride in knowing that his best (if not only) friend had that much faith in him.

But now? She was visibly shaking as tears spilled from her eyes, no matter how hard she fought to keep them from falling. She explained herself before Revali could even ask. Sometimes the earth around the village would shake. Red ash would rise from the ground in the middle of the night. The moon took on a faint red hue a few times. A few Rito would even fall ill when it did so, only to be perfectly healthy the following morning. A few travelers had claimed that not one, but two Lynels had been spotted near the Tabantha Tundra.

All of that spanned the long, exhausting months Revali had been spending at Hyrule Castle. It made sense, now that he thought about it. The signs were there, and everyone was seeing them. Ganon was coming, and it seemed to enjoy toying with the land it was hoping to destroy by tormenting the people that live in it with these little "tricks."

If anyone else had expressed concern about it, Revali would've shrugged it off. Make a speech similar to the one he said to Link; that it would be easy. Go on and on about how he'd wipe the floor with Ganon, how he wouldn't even let it touch Rito Village.

But it was her Revali was talking to. Theatrics wouldn't work; she knew him better than that. She always knew what to say to him. Revali preferred actions.

Which is why, upon hearing her request, he wordlessly walked to her and gave her the first hug the two of them had shared in a long time. He let her squeeze him, let her cry into his shoulder like it was the only chance she had. She was terrified of the idea of losing him, of him not being there to see her get married, start a family, or do anything with her life once the Calamity showed its face. Though he'd never admit it to anyone, Revali was scared too. After everything they'd been through, Revali couldn't bear to leave his best friend all alone.

Admist his rising fear and her tears, Revali knew one thing.

He'll be back. Ganon be damned.
