Description
This the e-mail I sent to NintendoDear Nintendo
Let me just say that I am a long time supporter of your company. It was you that got me into video games in the first place so what I have to say is merely a suggestion of how one of you character should be designed. This all started when I purchased a magazine presented by PLAY magazine “Girls of Gaming” and I can across an article on Samus Aran; it said that aside from here face and hair Samus is a real gaming mystery. This upset me become they where right. The first time I ever played Metroid on the original NES I didn’t know that she was a girl; so I said “Why should characters like Lara or Cammy or even Chun Li be designed with sex apple in mind but not Samus?” so I took matters into my own hands a made up some drawings. To cut it short here is one concept I drew up for a sequel, if you interested please contacted me a Greever569@msn.com
Sincerely
Michael J. Almaraz.

Hmm, nice concept
I think it's kind of cool how Nintendo didn't make Samus' suit all that feminine though. She just seems to be a badass who doesn't need to give fan service. But of course, there's nothing wrong with a little "what if."

In the very first game on NES, the intruction manual referd to Samus as a "he" but at the very end, it was revealed to be a "she." Plus the less time you took, the less 8-bit clothing she would wear...

Man, I sure didn't. By the time I got Metroid for the NES everyone else already had an N64 for over a year.
But actually, I like this drawing a bit better than the other, unless there was one other than this one. The body posture is definately more dynamic and the overall flow of the drawing a lot stronger. It sort of has a wave form with gracefully increasing amplitude and wave length. Also I like the "heroric" proprtions on the body itself where the lower torso has greater weight. The head is especially better proportioned on this one. The flow of the hair certainly adds to the drawing. Furtherstill, The facial structure in this drawing is a lot more confident and symetrical. As far as coloring, I prefer the blue overlay for the shadow here as well as the less-generic honey-comb textures within the suit.
In the end, I'd have to say that this is the stronger drawing

I like this... for once... though I doubt Nintendo would listen to your design suggestion.
