Slugworth has heard by one of his henchmen that Wonkaβs gum had turned Violet Beauregarde into a life-sized blueberry. This might give Slugworth a chance to get Wonka out of business by holding Violet ransom for Wonkaβs entire factory.When Violet gets scared, it causes the blueberry juice inside her all bubbly. This could expand her body more and making hard for Violet to run faster.
You notice that Violet is wearing some sort of French clothing.

That was something made up in the orignal movie. In Dahl's actual book, they were competitors, and the modern version shows this with his spies sneaking in and stealing design ideas.

lol, i know how you feel. Each pays homage to the book in its individual way, but people agure which is better. For example, the recent film. THe Oompa Loompa songs were the only ones, and they were based on the original lyrics made by Dahl. But the original film, everybody sang every two minutes and the Oompa Loompa songs were completely different. Wikipidia is your friend on this!
