Pretty much all of them. The on western released ones Monoblos wasn't in was Tri and 3 Ultimate.
And if you were wondering, the latest game, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, is out now on 3DS. Monoblos one one of the early High Rank monsters you fight in the Single Player missions.

XD Yeah. It was probobly an inspiration for the design along with it's two horned cousin, the Diablos.
And I could tell ya a lot of stuff, but in my honest oppinon, you should watch ProJared's Monster Hunter tutorial vids. They might be for the last gen, but the games don't change too much from it's days back on the PS2.

The only thing I'd say that he doesn't is that you should try out the Arena Quest if you want to test out a new weapon in an ideal scenario. They give you pre-determined weapons, armor, and items. And you're not punished as severely if you fail as you are in other quests.
If ya need to know anything else, feel free to ask.

yeah i think it is. and also to be very honest here this is my very first time playing a monster hunter game and i only got monster hunter 4 now. and thank you so much for those videos they should help me very much. but the only problem i'm having with is that i don't know if i got the right weapon for my hunt and that my weapon always gets dull real fast and i always fail at my hunt for those huge monsters right now i am hunting that monkey like monster and then that place i am just exploring now. and i don't think i got the best armor for the job. the weapon i currently using right now is the insect gaive thing you know the one i'm talking about right? and my cat partner is pretty useless in battle with me. can you tell me what i am doing wrong here?

Ahh. Well, there is no real right weapon. Just use what you have the most fun with. And starter weapons do get dull really fast. And bouncing tends to make them dull quicker. Although, there are a few weapons that can negate bouncing. You still take reduced damage if your weapon isn't sharp enough, but they might help. Long Sword spirit attacks, Hammer's charge attacks, Gunlance's blasts, Switch Axe's sword mode, and Charge Blade's axe mode elemental bursts act like the skill Mind's Eye, making them not bounce off of tough hides. The bug on the glave also doesn't bounce, and with the red essence you get by hitting large monsters in the head with the bug, it'll bounce less, as well as gets a pretty hefty damage boost. Although you could also try ranged with a bowgun or a bow. (BTW, if your gonna use a bow, I'd recommend watching this. They're pretty tricky to use, especially since they have a different control scheme to the other weapons.)
youtu.be/U5J8soWpmls
As for the Ketcha Watcha (the monkey boss your fighting) I'd recommend Long Sword. It's fast enough to keep up, and deals nice damage. But again, use what your most comfortable with. Another useful tip is that when he's hanging on vines, use a Sonic Bomb to knock him to the ground. You make them by first combining Fire Herb and Nitroshroom to make Gunpowder, then combine that with a Screamer Sac you get from the Great Jaggi, AKA, the purple raptor dude. (BTW, you should hunt him a few times, to get his armor and maybe even a weapon. MH is a really grind-heavy game, and I wouldn't recommend it if you don't have the patience for it.) And the Palico is very useless at the start, but once you unlock Cheeko Sands in the Village Quests, they'll definitely become a lot more helpful.
Oh, and IDK if I need to say this, but if you're trying to do the Guild Hall quests offline, I wouldn't recommend it. Those are meant for online play. You shouldn't try those on your own. At least one other hunter makes them so much easier. Talk to the Guildmarm (The girl in green in Val Habar) for the single player Village quests, which are weaker than the Guild Hall monsters, and more for playing alone.
Anything else?

Welcome. And they're all good. You just need to keep using stuff until you find a favorite. Mine are the lances, Charge Blades, and Switch Axes for when I want to be more offensive.
Cheeko Sands is a place you unlock in the story mode. And it's there that you get sub Palicos, which not only give you an extra helper during fights, they have special skills, like using healing horns, setting traps, or distracting the monster for you. And if you have enough of a certain "Forte" of sub Palico on First Stingers list, you Main Pallico will also get those skills. For example, I have 3 Fighting Forte Palicos, and 2 Stealing Palico. Her Forte is changed from Leadership, to Fighting, which give her the Felyne Fury Combo ability, as well as give her a Demon Horn to blow, boosting everyone's attack that's in the same area as her, as well as larger and more powerful boomerangs, and ever a piercing boomerang, which can hit a monster multiple times. You also unlock Palico equipment, which also makes them stronger and tougher. Although if you have last month's DLC (If you can you should get all the DLC. It's all free) You can do the quest "Uniqlo: Hunt for Inspiration" in the guild hall. you can get some pretty good Palico Gear early, You'll just have fight some Felynes and Melynx. It's real easy. Do it 6 times, and you should have enough tickets to make a full set.
Seltas? It's not that hard unless your not sharpening your weapons back up. You did remember to bring Whetstones to sharpen it back up, right? You can buy them in the shop, or find them in the field. And if you're not aiming to break that horn, you can just attack it's back and legs. Also, an easy way to get it down from the air is to throw a Flash Bomb at it. You make them by first making a bomb Casing, which is a Sap Plant and a piece of Stone. Iron Ore works too, but I think it's a little too valuable to you right now to spend on Bombs. But take that Bomb Casing, and combine it with a Flash Bug, which you should find in Expeditions, if you have those unlocked. Throw a Flash Bomb a little ways in front of it, and it'll crash to the ground for a little while, giving you some free hits. And if it's still too hard, you might want to try the Switch Ake. In it's Sword Mode, you'll never bounce off of hard hides and shells. Although you'll still do reduced damage if it's not actually cutting, it'll help do something. And you might wanna try the online, and watch how others fight it. Perhaps see if you can learn some tricks from them.
Ah. The guard up the stairs in Dondruma. He's guarding the Elder Hall, where you go do G-Rank Quests. That's like the endgame stuff. It'll be a while before you get past him.

Well, if you beat the Seltas, then just talk to people with bubbles over there heads, and keep doing quests until You unlock an Urgent Quest. Do that, and the story progresses. Oh, if you can't find any new people to talk to, check your map to see if you have Expeditions unlocked. You'll need to complete a few of those to get father in the story. Plus, they allow you to fight Monsters you normally aren't able too.

The Seltas is the beetle monster with the large horn. The Monkey is the Katcha Watcha, and you do need to battle it to progress the story. And you get more cats later on. And weapon choice depends on your personal preference. If you prefer more tactical play, being able to switch your strategy on the fly, go with Charge Blade. If you want a more fast paced aggressive style, go with Dual Blades. I personally prefer the Charge Blade.

You can make Ketcha gear, and it's pretty cool looking. And There are Palicos that boost both your attack and Defence. The defence based palicos will also distract monsters for you, while attack based ones will use more powerful boomerangs.
And it probably will. There are a few easy quests for some neat gear. And if not, it's all free, so there's no reason not to get it anyways. XD
What have you been using up to now, if you don't mind me asking?

It's kinda got a chinease thing going on, With Sun Wukong themes. And there is one other town you have to get past before you start unlocking Palico stuff. But once ya start to really understand the game, it'll be easy.
Well, you don't actually download any gear. You donwload quests, and those quests have special items than you can make into DLC gear. Some quests are easy, while others are too damn hard. But it's all usually worth it to get.
Ah. Yeah. The Glaive uses a different method of upgrading than any other weapon. I personally wouldn't recommend getting too into the glaive until you know you get one close to full ASAP. Although if you really have to have one, once you reach High-Rank in the Online Mode, you can do one of the DLC quests, where you fight a small Tetsucabra, for blueprints to the Clockwork Glave, which comes with a pre-upgraded mechanical bug. If you really like it, I'd recommend the Long Sword for ya to try. It's kinda the same idea behind it. A fast, but long reaching and powerful weapon. No defensive options other than a roll, and you can raise it's power with special buffs.
And use Whetstones to restore it's sharpness. You can buy them from stores, or find them while mining.

oh that sounds like a cool design. and okay i'll try to get to the palico stuff.
any other DLC quests that will be easy for me to get? what are the gear and weapons i get for doing the easy DLC quests?
and well i am still mostly at the beginning of the game and where i am at that i have to beat this katcha monkey to progress the story. what does the clockwork glave look like? so you say i either pick the long sword or the charge blade or the dual blades?
no that's not what i am talking about i'm talking about is how do i rise the sharpness level of my weapon to make the sharpness last longer than it should when i face the monster?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
goldeneagle1337 In reply to blackgeno [2015-05-14 00:02:46 +0000 UTC]
You should check out the official Monster Hunter Youtube page for more info on what's in the DLC There's quite a bit there.
Well, if I wanna main with the Glave, I'd say stick with the LS. Other wise, go with the DBs. They're kinda the same thing, although much less damage, but much more mobile and combo-heavy
Oh. Then you have to upgrade them. Just go to blacksmith, choose Upgrade Equipment, and then pick the weapon you want to upgrade. It'll tell you what materials you need to upgrade, and how much it'll cost. If you have all that, then the damage should go up, as well as the sharpness. It might also gain an elemental property, depending on what bits you use.

XD LOL! Well, that is a good reason too.
And some weapons deal extra damage based on certain elements. Life Fire, Ice, and Electricity. There's also weapons that deal status ailments as an element, like paralysis, poison, and sleep. Which element your weapon has depends on what parts are used. For example, The Ketcha Watcha uses mainly water element attacks, so it's weapons deal water damage. Some monsters are weaker to certain elements than others. You can check the armor made from they to find out they're weaknesses and strengths.

XD Yeah. The glaive can be good, but not early game.
Ah. Yeah. Bit of an odd one that. Pretty much every Elder Dragon or Wyvern is weak to Dragon Element in some respect. But other creatures tend to resist it somewhat. If you can get one, it's a good choice of weapon for when your not sure what something's weak to.

Elder Dragons are like the End-Game bosses. Stuff like the Dah'ren Moran that you fight in the opening, to things like Teostra, Fatalis, Kirin, and Dalamadur. There's a couple others that are in the game, and have been dropped from the game. They're a real challenge of what you know.

*Shrugs* that might be up to you. I just meant that I didn't remember the exact number with all the variants and sub species. And there's one that I won't spoil that makes counting kinda iffy.
And I think there's few candidates. There's Teostra, who's unusually strong, with a powerful explosion attack that could very well one-shot you. And if it doesn't, your stunned so his next attack probably will kill you. Then there's Dalamadur, who is the THE largest monster in the game, and has the health pool to match. And although I haven't fought him yet, I hear the G-Rank Crimson Fatalis is the stuff of nightmares. His unique them is terrifying as balls though.
