“Here is your breakfast, Your Highness,” you said as you gently placed the tray of food on the table.

His face cringed at the sight.

“This isn’t what I wanted, ______!” Alois whacked a plate across the table and you watched as it fell to the floor and shattered.

“B-but, Your Highness, this is what you asked for…”

“I don’t care! I changed my mind! You’re such a useless servant. Claude! Come here!”

Claude entered the room with a worried expression. When he saw what happened, he dismissed you for the rest of the morning and took care of the mess that idiot had just made.

Nothing was ever right when it came to Alois. He would always find something that he didn’t like. You sighed and made your way into your room. Having nothing else to do, you picked up a dusty book and began to read.

A sudden knock on your door made you jump up from your seat on the bed.

“______, are you alright? That brat didn’t hurt you did he?” Claude stepped into your room with an obvious expression of concern on his face.

You let out a sigh of relief when you saw that it wasn’t Alois and sat back down.

“Yes I’m fine, thank you.” Claude came into your room and sat on your bed next to you.

“I’ve been meaning to talk to you.”

“Sure! What do you want to talk about?” You turned to face him with a smile.

He awkwardly took your hands in his.

“You should leave Alois to me. He’s an unpredictable brat. You could get seriously hurt.”

“Ummm… I guess I could do that,” you said, confused as to why Claude was holding your hands. You fidgeted uncomfortably in your spot.

“Wait… No that’s not what I wanted to say. I wanted to tell you that… I-I wanted to say… Just…” he let out a big sigh and chuckled softly. “Here let me try again.”

He held your face in his gloved hands and pulled you closer. You knew he was going to kiss you, but you were never kissed before, which made you nervous. His face inches away from yours, you could feel his warm breath against your skin and it sent shivers through your body.

“Claaauuuudddeeee! Where are you, Claude!?” Alois was screaming at the top of his lungs.

You both jumped at the sound of his voice and Claude stood up abruptly.

You heard faint steps coming towards your room. Finally the steps stopped and the door flung open. “Here you are! What are you doing in her room?” Alois demanded with an annoyed expression on his face.

“Your highness! I…umm… w-we were just discussing the… uhhh… your meal plans for tonight.” You cursed to yourself for stuttering and blushed.

“What is it that you need?” Claude asked; annoyance was apparent in his voice.

“Don’t use that tone with me! And why are you in here?! You shouldn’t be alone with a ‘lady’ in her bedroom.” He paused and then laughed at the thought of you, a servant, being called a lady.

When he was finished with his laughing fit, you noticed that Claude was glaring at Alois with such hatred. His fists were clenched, knuckles turning white. The look in his eyes scared you a little.

Not noticing Claude, Alois crossed his arms and let out an exasperated sigh.

“Anyways… we got invited to a party! It’s tonight at the Phantomhive manor! Oh, isn’t this wonderful, Claude?” He hopped around, ran in circles before taking Claude’s hand, and danced out of the room. However, before he left, Alois shot you a scornful glare.

«Time Skip»

All you could think about was Claude. He tried to kiss you! You blushed at the thought.

You couldn’t focus at all but you had to get the master’s clothes ready for the event. Ahhhh! You had accidentally picked out red booty shorts, a yellow overcoat, and a magenta bow tie with his cosplay maid tights!

As you were trying to fix that mess of an outfit you heard someone behind you. You turned to find Claude standing behind you, his face inches away from yours.

“Hello, ______. It’s such a shame that you can’t come tonight.”

“I- umm…. Oh! No its fine don’t worry about me. It would be nice to go to a party, though. If only Alois would let me go…”

“Well, in that case, will you come to the party? I will talk with the master.”

“Oh no, I don’t want to cause you any trouble. Really, I’ll be fi-”

“You are coming with us whether you like it or not. Come and enjoy yourself for once.” And with that Claude smiled and left you to get ready for the party.

«Time Skip»

When the carriage finally came to a stop, a very handsome butler opened the door.

“Welcome to the Phantomhive Manor. I am Ciel Phantomhive, head of the family.” A small boy dressed in dark blue said.

As you were about to step out of the carriage, Alois pushed you out of the way, jumped out, and clung to Ciel’s neck.

“Oh Ciel! I’ve missed you so much! Come on, let’s go party!” The little brat ran off, dragging Ciel with him, and leaving you in an awkward situation with the two butlers.

Claude came up behind you, a dark aura around him. He protectively placed his hand on your shoulder. “Pleasure to see you again. You’ve kept this house in good condition, I see.” You could just hear the sarcasm drip from his voice.

“Oh, of course. Only the best for my Master.” The other butler replied then turned to you. “Good evening, Milady. I am Sebastian Michaelis, the butler of the Phantomhive Manor,” he said as he got down on one knee and lightly kissed your hand.

You felt Claude’s hand tighten on your shoulder as he glared down at Sebastian.

“________, please go in and enjoy the party. I will be by your side… momentarily.”

“Oh, a-alright then. It was nice meeting you, sir.” You said sweetly as you started towards the door.

The butler bowed and said, “Please, call me Sebastian.”
