Description Just a little tutorial I put together for the folks over on DoA (Den of Angels) that I thought I'd share here, too. It's for making a corset style top for dolls. It was made specifically for BJDs (ball jointed dolls) but can be used with ANY doll, I'd think, since it's all measurement based, with on the doll fittings.

Please, feel free to use to make tops for any reason. No need to credit if you don't want to. Though I would appreciate credit for those who choose to give it.

If you do use it, I'd LOVE to see photos of your end results! Regardless of the doll the end product is modeled on! So feel free to share links to finished pieces in the comments!

If I don't have any boning, is it absolutely necessary to include?

No, it is not absolutely necessary, but it does help the top fit properly with no bunching of the fabric, and no 'drooping', either. Sorry I only just saw this today, while looking this up from my 'main' account, so I couldn't answer your question MUCH closer to the time you asked it.

You can also make boning for doll scale pieces out of a lot of different things. I prefer small zip ties like you find in the hardware store, but you can also do things like cut small strips of plastic from milk jugs, soda bottles, and water bottles to use.

Β trying to use a different scale and resize it to fit.

Really helpful as I can use it on my monster high girl, it not just for a certain size of bjd there's a million variations I could try too. A lovely simple pattern that allows the user to customize to their needs
