It's actually my own fic. I'm 24.000 words into WRITING a Reed900 slow-burn fic, I should've said instead. It's not finished or released yet, but it won't be too long before I'll be publishing it on my AO3 account ( archiveofourown.org/users/Aydaβ¦)Β It's now 37.400+ words and I have a few more scenes to write

...he equals the bad ending. So. Connor is the original and the best. Rk900 never even had any interaction with Gavin so it doesn't make sense. Connor was sarcastic to Gavin and they have a good premise.

I'm sure Nines is created even in the good ending, but since Connor no longer has access to the Zen Garden, we don't see him. With Connor a deviant, it makes even more sense to me that Nines would be deployed to get things back in order. His mission would probably be to neutralize Connor only to deviate before it happens.
Believe me, I love Connor just as much. They're equal to me and I don't see Nines as his "replacement" at all. I like to headcanon them as brothers once Nines deviates.
The reason why ppl ship Nines and Gavin is because the former is headcanon-ed to be even more snarky and able to put Gavin in his place. Connor, imo, is too sweet for Gavin (I totally support anyone who ships Convin, though. Maybe Connor can get the soft side out of our favorite trash man. I don't doubt it.) It's just the "enemies to lovers" trope that people seem to enjoy a lot. I'm aware Connor can be snarky to Gavin (the "bromance" comment is gold,) but Connor never downright despises Gavin. Nines is a clean slate and we like to think he won't take any of Gavin's crap from the get-go

Looking aside from the alternative options where he lets himself get stepped on by Gavin, he does let himself get shoulder-decked regardless of choices when he could simply move away and has never an option to be downright rude towards him ("ignoring" doesn't count bc he only takes orders from Anderson AKA the break room and a time limit to focus on AKA outside the archive room) and a lot of ppl see that as him being nice. The headcanon is that Nines would either dodge or block him with his upgrades. It's kinda funny, tbh.
Like I said previously, Nines is like a clean slate. We can practically do whatever we want with him as almost nothing contradicts with canon. Connor has alternatives, yes, but he does have canon scenes that happen regardless of whatever symbol we as players press.
I'm not here to change your opinion and I totally see what you mean. Again, I support anyone who ships Convin. We just all have different preferences.
