I use really few brushes
Skies are done with Synthetic Round Bristle Brush and Smudge Web Brush.
I draw people by crosshatching with Soft Pastel.
I smooth out or emphasize colors out with Soft Airbrush.
And finally, I use one of the Glow Brushes to make things shine. Sparkles are done in Krita

U-Um, Autodesk DOES have layers.........
I use Layers a lot. You can find them in WINDOW, I think.
It has all sorts of things you can access, as well as the Layer
