Description
In a nondescript bar somewhere in the middle of nowhere, western Coveland, someone shot at Silas.. and missed.His reaction: "If you have a God, then pray, because in three seconds, you're going to meet him."
Colored in Photoshop 7.. come to think of it, I drew the background in that program as well... That was the last time I used mostly the dodge and burn tool to shade.. I've been experimenting ever since

The colours are really nice and rich, with the bright vivid ones of his coat and pants contrasting with the brown of the background. ^_^ very nice

actually, you're one of the few people I know who can make Dodge/burn look nice. It actually isn't too bad for rendering leather.

Actually.. what are your settings? Doing burn/dodge at 100 is not a good idea.. and if you have a tablet, it works a lot better... but your shading is teh rawr as it is o_o

I'm tabletless, sadly. I hope that will change.
My burn/dodge settings are quite low... like 4/2 or something. Usually workin' with midtones for the coloured stuff, while the greyer stuff I need to use highlights or shadows.
Thanks for the good word on the shading though. I'll keep at it!

Bah, it's okay. A mouse isn't so bad, really; A tablet just helps with the wrist pain as far as I'm concerned
Something I thought was a good idea was to shade with midtones, then to go to highlights and go over the darker parts to mute the color a little.. but going overboard can cause terribley stark contrasts, and I'm a victim of it

#2- crit - some of your shots are very flat in the background, sometime do more pics where the bar is at more of an angle. :3
#3 - the bottles are at different perspectives D: Look at the beer and its lable.. and the counter they sit on.. you should see the underside of it because of your angle :3 Just tryin to help
