Since I finished it yesterday, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to upload it today.. since I've not uploaded anything in a month.
Besides, the lineart itself is edging on a year old. I can't believe I let imags sit for that long.. but then again, a whole lot has happened between then and now.
Anywho.
Two characters I don't draw very much, but their story is very compelling to me; rather, their family story is rather compelling to me. Towards the end, their lives play a very important part to a certain creature's intentions.
This is Pacafee, the raging drunk, and Nikkola, the one who fears the rage.
It seems that the Weasel brothers both become terribley mean people when drunk. This is why Jack stopped, but Pacafee (the oldest) can't seem to put it away.
Nikkola, the youngest, has to deal with Pacafee's outbursts and domineering personality. She can't leave him because he refuses to allow her to go.. and a part of her doesn't wanna abandon her older brother, anyway.
Although she should.
Joy isn't a prevalent part of their lives.. even less so the more time wears on and as the Beast gets stronger.

I always loved the way you drew such emotive faces, this particular piece really got me. The body language and muted colors really add to the ambience..

Great work, especially on the body language for both characters. The faces help but you can't really emphasize the apprehension to leave with the body. She knows he would never hurt his sister.

I absolutely love reading all of your mini-story hints that you post as the descriptions. I can't wait to read a full story, or comic once you put everything together. I love these characters and think the emotions are perfectly depicted in this image.

I apalogies for that ^_^;; But seriously, it's great to see you work again, I missed your art style. I like the lighting and the expressions in the characters, aswell as the storyline behind this piece.
I really love the colors in the younger sister, from her hair to her shirt, that is just amazing. I have to try and get my colors to look as good as yours look DX

I do have to say you handle expressions beautifully. You always do. And whenever i look at it, i can't imagine them done any less perfect. I love Nikkola's expression the most, you got it so well in contrast with Pecafee's expression that she always makes his worse by contrast. Its amazing really.

The shading here is very stark and three-dimensional. I love the background almost as much as I love the pose these two are in. It's very articulate and communicates their relationship at a glance.

The image itself makes me think of "Phantom of the Opera" for some reason. I can relate to the whole alcohol ideal though. She's got cool gloves on.
