The Devine Mother is holding a bowl of fruit- a sacrifice for bringing fertility and good growth (represented through the seed and flower).
The dagger is representational of The Divine Mother's darker side and the suffering she can bring if angered.

The woman's face was inspired by a photograph from a National Geographic but i can't remember the issue.
