Love the sading, especially on the dirtied-with-sand bits and the areas around the cuts. Though personally I think the "battered-and-weary" look would be better if the head were tilted slightly downwards. But eh, details (plus I know I wouldn't be able to do it without screwing something else up).

(Neat job with the background, and I recognized the similarities to one of your older pictures. Only critiques I have to add is that the abdomen looks too elongated, and if those are jean shorts, there aren't any white threads showing where they've been ripped. Otherwise, I love it.)
