Originally, I had intended the pose of this drawing to be a simple tease, but as I sketched it, it began to take on a whole new meaning. Not surprisingly, that meaning was synonymous with something that many of my friends have been trying to tell me for some time: Don't let a little road block prevent you from reaching your goals...just find another road.

Azalea represents my strength, my resolve. Even though she's been stung many times by life's proverbial lemons, she hasn't given up, and she lives on to continue haunting me. Even though I face many situations that cause me to doubt myself, she won't let me fall into darkness, not as long as light still spills into view. Even though I feel that she should be entirely imaginary from my perspective, I can still envision her standing beside me, and hear her cheering me on in spirit. That girl is simply invincible.

In other words...break time's over.
