Just a quickie to get me back into drawing shape. I hadn't drawn myself in months (certainly not since the eye redesign from 9 months ago - Go, Tsurime Eyes! ), so I figured I'd do it again.

Oh yes, there is a story behind the titular gauntlet. For those who don't follow my Twitter account, I was in a nasty van accident in Texas this summer. One of the tires slipped, the van lost control, the driver tried to countersteer, and we all ended up rolling onto the median. Fortunately, nobody was seriously injured; In fact, the only injuries were to DaveK and myself, and were minor. Dave suffered a flesh wound to his head, and I got glass shards in one of my arms since I was sitting next to a window that broke. I also got hung by my own seat belt, but the pain in my neck and back has since vanished.

So I wore a bandage over my hand for a couple days, and I thought back to all the other events in my life where I could have died or gotten in serious trouble. Unsurprisingly, most of those events happened in my teenage years. >.> But somehow I always keep escaping from those situations without any dire consequences. I don't want to sound conceited or anything, but with that much luck, I have to wonder if there is some truth to the Savaronist mythos, that every living creature is a piece of God, and they can bend their own destinies in ways that seem miraculous or impossible.

Which brings me back to the gauntlet. It's being worn on that same arm, which is now covered in scars. It bears four ancient symbols from a long-dead Tradu language. The green one means body, the red one means mind, the yellow one means spirit, and the blue one means God. The symbols represent the four elements of which each living being is made, according to Savaronist scripture.
