This is half of an art trade I did with *Chico-2013We decidided to do a Pokemon themed AT. She drew my Pokemon OC Kim:
And this is her Pokemon OC Taylor:
It was a lot of fun doing this! My first pokemon OC AT ever! Maybe someday Kim and Taylor can meet up and become friends!
I experimented around with color and over all I'm happy with the result.

Because it keeps drawing my eye: did you use a texture or a brush for the colors? Whatever you did, I love the gritty look it's rocking. Love the colors, too, but I'm a total sucker fro green sooo. . .

I color the picture first, and then I add a texture over the top of it.

xDDDDD Y'know, the sad thing is. . .it's a True Story/Quote? From the eighty-or-so-year-old cofounder of Liberty, no less. xD (When we had the older adult/end of life unit in Developmental Psych, our prof had us discuss in our groups things we were looking forward to about getting older. My group spent fifteen minutes discussing Dr. Towns, his Awesome quotes, and how much we want to be as ornery as him when we get to be his age. Swear to Chuck, he's even got a comment on gays with hand gestures ("This doesn't work. *hand gesture* This doesn't work. *hand gesture* This works! *hand gesture*") - and don't even get started on his wife/the waffles comment ("There are three things I like to do in the morning: talk to God, eat waffles, and have sex with my wife. This morning I had waffles - guess what else I did.")! If not for the fact that he's the cofounder, he so would've been sacked ages ago. xD )

I love the interaction between the two of them, looks like they are quite happy together and pretty close. I have no idea what that PokΓ©mon is but it looks adorable!
I like the green colours you've added in a few places - her jeans, her hair and her arms - it makes it look like the cloak is a bit metallic and reflecting the light. It's a nice touch and quite inventive
I like the way the picture is presented as a whole - brought together nicely with the pose of the characters and the banner on the left. Nice shading throughout too

It's one of the newer generation starter pokemon. His name is Snivy I believe.

Let me begin by saying "awww" 
I think its a little strange that her skin is shaded with green (since there is no green light source), but otherwise, the coloring is clear and its pretty solid. She has a believable, well drawn body shape, and of course you've got the adorable factor down good.

I was messing around with color quiet a bit, and I think my mentality of the time was a bit of a fantasy feel, but I totally agree with what you're saying. Tiz a learning experience indeed!

One thing that bothers me about this is the border. It's way too sharp and clear to match with the rest of the picture.
Although, again, I like the colours. And you captured the emotion well.

I like the shadowing that you used on the floor as well on the clothing to show depth. The green highlights you added on the hair and arms tie in everything together as well, good work!
