That's how I do it in traditional. I always start with the pencil sketch and never draw in digital from the very beginning.
Of course, it is not an academical anatomy, just the way I do it.
I also tried to reflect features of my characters' figures and compare them to each other.
Zulirat, Aizelity, Yaronda and Modest are my original characters.

That's how to draw people, that's how I do it. Blocks and lines, form some anatomy over it and draw on clothes/hair.
