Yep, Star Wars is inspired by the Japanese movie "the Hidden Fortress" released in 1958. And the helmet of Dark vadors is inspired by samurai's helmets.Β
There are lots of other references to this movie as for example: Obi-Wan Kenobi = Obi (εΈ―)= Belt, Ken (ε£)= Sword.
Or as well as the Bushido (Samurai code)Β gets closer many of that of the Jedi, or still that the word "jedi" results from the Japanese word Jidaigeki (ζ代ε) which means "swashbuckler".

This is Kick Ass, dude. I mean, even though you call it medieval, it still looks like it would fight RIGHT within a sci fi story. That being said, it's medieval, but it's not completely European or stereotypical knight....and I like it for that. Almost looks insect like. In some ways it looks more robotic than the original.Β
