Description
My first completed photoshop art ever. I've started several projects but this was the first to be actually completed. I'd love to hear how I can improve because I'm really getting into photoshop and my next piece is already in the making. This is some concept art for a game I've been working on mostly in solitude for a number of years now. Now I've started working on some art and this is the first finished piece.
Race would be human, the class would be the Nephilim which would be able to fly, obviously I guess.... but, there's a lot to it really.
The original name I had for this class was DemonBlood, but a friend said I should call it a Nephilim, which he said was a fallen angel, which is kind of wrong. I think the general agreement is that it means "giant, or half giant" or something. Its from the old testament I think. I'm not really looking for earth based references though so I may change it again later. Nefium may be a happy medium.
Not sure why but something made the image go blank so here it is again. I improved on it a bit too.

Really like this piece. From what I have learned, the Nephilim were called the "ones who came from the heavens", but in the Earth Chronicles by Zecharia Sitchin, they were thought to be the Annunaki, from the planet Nibiru (that is actually in our solar system and comes near earth every 3600 years or so, actually as we speak they are due to arrive again soon. Wreaking havoc in many areas of our world. This planet is huge and has actually been documented by the Naval Observatory in the 70's and recently more possibilties arise) The Bible does translate them as Giants, of course, there are, so many questionable verses and chapters that are interpreted in a million ways to "fit" the human creation, but I think Zecharia is much closer to reality after reading 6 or 8 of his books. Sitchin has translated thousands of sand discs from ancient ruins of the time of the Sumerians, and possibly earlier, and has written quite a great version of how humanity came to be....they did mate with human women, but it goes much deeper and tells of how we humans were actually genetically manipulated with the Annunaki genes. A "must read" for sure! Check out his website, it is quite awesome. I like the depth and the wing structure of your creature, makes you want to know him or even "be" him !!! Also thanks to Boggleboy for enlightening me to your work!

Thanks, glad you like it.
Sounds interesting, but is it advocated as fact or fiction?
And much thanks to Boogleboy, he's really too kind.

The Earth Chronicle Books have been around for quite a while but Sitchin still writes more. I started reading them in the 70's (yeah, I'm as old as dirt They're very interesting because he is only one of maybe a couple hundred people on the planet that can translate ancient writings. He actually combines creationism with evolution and extraterrestrials. There are so many stories that the ancients knew about our solar system, that it amazes me, yet they are all have been proven correct. He has the ability to answer questions about Bible stories, along with myths and legends creating timelines. The books will open you up to a completely different way of thinking of our origins. Ha has very little arguments from anyone. They make sense. They even can explain about ancient wars and gods, etc. Check them out, I feel very strongly about his information. He has a new one out called "End of Days" , I'll be reading that soon. He is for real...... Thanks for sharing your work with us, jack

Well... I did look into it for a couple hours and must say it seems very much based within the realm of fantasy. Very creative though. Just my .02

You may be correct about the fantasy aspect, but then again, isn't all forms of our beginings fantasy? (including the Bible which I have studied quite a bit in my youth and still do) His stories just seem to be more to the point, historically. Making connections, validating certain religious beliefs, etc. One day we shall all be surprised, I'm sure. He even answers the age old question of the "missing link".
Have you had a chance to visit my gallery yet? Let me know what you think. later, j

heh, I would disagree but I'm definitely the worst possible person you could talk to about this sort of thing. No disrespect meant at all though. If you have an interest of debating I wouldn't mind chatting about the subject in more detail as our time allows, maybe one of us can make the other 'see the light'. I'll check your gallery after I post this ; )

No debate necessary. Thought you might be interested in the Nephilim name. At least from a different source. It is an interesting read though, kinda tough, but interesting. I'm old and already have my own spiritual ideas. Creative dreaming and other things have influenced my ideas. Do you know of the Indigo Children? You are one! You show all the signs. Yet more interesting stuff for you to read and meander. Glad you like my art. To start sculpting , all you need to do is "play with clay" and see if you can create 3d versions of anything. My use of color clay would take a very long time to teach, and even then, I probably would be able to give you a good insight. My art is totally natural and I am self taught. Years of practicing and learning the mechanics of this media is what is the important thing to learn. Armatures are next, that takes much practice too. All of my pieces are sculpted in stainless steel first, then clay. But if you try and have questions , I shall surely try to answer them, as would Kevin. Talk to you later, thanks for the favs j

Hmm... Well, I'm a skeptic by nature, but I'll see what he has to say.

The Nephilim are hybrids of human and angel parents. It's talked about in the book of Genesis. Some angels were attracted to the daughters of men and took on human form to take wives for themselves. The resulting offspring were extremely violent and strong and all of them were wiped out in the flood. The name actually means "fellers" as in one who causes others to fall. Some historians even theorize that legends like Hercules could possibly have roots in what the Nephilim did.
Welcome to history hour.

I like that definition better. But in the game it wont have ties to our reality, I just like the name and thought it remotely fitting.

Thanks. its nice to get some views of my art, it's kind of overshadowed by the armor lol, but thats art too in a sense. I'm thinking about creating the armor on this character in leather at some point.
