Gold prosprctors know that the presence of quartz means that gold is near.

well all caught up and It could of been my lack of understanding at first or the fact that this quartz had yet to bring me the love it should. i'm not saying it's not a lovely piece, it is, one of your better paintings but It could also be my lack of self acceptance that it was Quartz... my impression when i first looked over this artwork, i really thought this was a satellite image of a Tidal Wave?? or OK a Tsunami but then, i changed my perception, did read your poem and realised the true nature of the With Quartz behind it.

I don't like it, but I was trying to do something minimalist. Silly me! I should stick with bright colors! Original title: Glitter Freeze, after the song by Gorillaz.
Still I've learned not to judge my own work. Anyway the ratio of white to gold in the painting is about the same as the ratio of quartz to gold in nature.

I suppoaw many of my abstracts are indeed aerial photos, as you have pointed out before. There is never just one interpretation of an abstract painting, as you well know. Or, in the case of Kandinsky, there may not be an interpretation at all.

Well as we all know Wayne it's a basic fact, less information always leads to an interpretation. it's true about Kandinsky, i remember seeing a painting once of his ''Swinging'' with no connection to any Swinging element within the Art... i think it was anyway, so how can one lead to interpretation when the is very little?.. you're so right it hurts.

I had a similar reaction when I saw Kandinksy's painting "Two Ovals" and I thought WTF, where are the ovals? I finally saw two shapes that looked like fried eggs. The rest was total chaos. Beautiful but chaotic. I would have titled it "Sunny Side Up".

You're so right. Sometimes I think Kandinsky is a mess. His books, particularly "Point and Line to Plane" have helped me a lot in developing some paintings, but he didn't always practice what he preached.

Kandinsky was trained to be a lawyer. He decided to become an artist at age 30. He was embraced by the Bauhaus school and eventually had a successful art career in Paris. He was never poor. Me, on the other hand, have always been poor. My saving grace.
