I've been busy recently, without as much time to draw as I'd like to, so this is mostly cel-shaded and relatively simple. Here are a few notes about Kennie:

- The alt ink color comes from a story I never finished, where Kennie was on a team with blue ink. The outfit, though, comes from here . But I really didn't want to draw the Painter's Mask again.

- No, Kennie does not have any markings such as spots, rings, etc. like most other Inklings and Octolings. And her hairstyle is intentionally different from the in-game ponytail style for Octoling girls.

- It seems that there is disagreement about how baby Octolings look like. The official Splatoon art book apparently says that Octarians, including Octolings, are born from tentacles that had been cut off from other Octarians (sources: here and here ). However, Kennie isn't naturally one of those orange and pale Octoling soldiers, plus the Octoling child from Sashimori doesn't look like a severed tentacle... So I think that Octolings can either be born naturally or through cutting off tentacles. I referenced this fan-made progression that is based on the canon Inkling development process from the artbook.

- Kennie was briefly in training for the Octarian army during the events of Splatoon 1, so she is wearing the Octoling armor from Splatoon 1... despite having the hypnoshades from Splatoon 2, which only Callie has ever worn. I mean, the creator of this meme did specify brainwashing by hypnoshades, otherwise I would have put the Splatoon 1 Octoling goggles on Kennie.

- Sanitized Kennie is the only Kennie variant here that is not canon in my Splatoon universe
