Personality/Background:

Helios is the long lost daughter Starswirl and a few centuries old Celestia. The old man had been some sort of stern, serious and somehow a little bitter soul ever since his young years. He had never cared for things such as love or friendship, he had much more important things to do, such as studying and magic practice. Kinda like young Twilight, but more stern and stoic. He eventually met Celestia and they bonded over magic studies and books sort of. They were both very powerfull and talented ponies. They we're great friends, but not necessarily in love. Even so, they end up getting sort of closer and they eventually begin meeting private and Celestia ends up pregnant.

Helios, or Ella as their parents lovingly called her, was the perfect and well behaved daughter of Starswirl a few hundred years younger Celestia. She was beautiful, kind, talented. Ella was everything someone could ever want as a child. She was... Perfect. The stern and cold shell Starswirl had ever been stuck into broke the moment he first saw his daughter and held him in his arms. She was so tiny, so precious. Starswirl and Celestia simply adored their precious little daughter. He enjoyed magic lessons and practice, he would read books and tell her endless stories of ancient fairytales of ponykind.

But the thing is, Ella wasn't just anypony, she was born the daughter of two very very powerful ponies, that way, she was born with an absurd ammount of magic. She begun to have many magic outbursts and they were getting stronger and more frequent and worse. Her powers have a very big potential to become extremely dangerous and even overcome the powers of Luna and Celestia themselves.

As some critical and dramatic point, Celestia needs to make a very difficult decision. She uses some old powerful ancient spell that was supposed to seal her daughter and her powers, but... When all light of the spell fades away, Ella... vanishes. She disappeared. They just didn't know what happened to her after, and they all assumed she was well... dead.

Starswirl and Celestia's relationship breaks apart after the loss of their daughter. They both blame themselves for what happened. Starswirl probably took it worse. Even though deep down he knows Celestia made the right call, he still blindly tries to convince himself that they could have done something else, there must have been another way to save his precious Ella. Celestia deeply resents herself for not being powerful enough to save her own daughter and because she was the one to "end" her.

Even in the current timeline, Celestia has no idea of what exactly happened to her.
