Entry picture for Game-Art-HQ 's last challenge of this year!

Each participant were allowed to choose one from the admins individual challenge which mine was as follows:

"Level-design. Try to illustrate a level of your choice from any game that has levels /stages with a start and an end."
So I chose to recreate the stage Above the Clouds from Wario Land 3!
Well, the start and the end of this stage was easy. Right on the bottom. But you need to find the right key to open the treasure chest.

To my work, Wario Land 3 was one of my all-time favourite games from the old GameBoy/GameBoy Color era. It has a lot of things in its time you can spend hours of playing this game. Despite of being mainly a platformer it wasn't usually just a platformer. It has loads of secrets and riddles to solve like a kind of a puzzle game and the hunt for treasures till you've got everything it was the cherry of the cake.

I was a lot inspired by the artist danielbogni who re-creates scenes from games of the classic era. So I was trying to do this on my own, too.
And I wanted to do some background art practices so it was a good opportunity.
