Well crossovers might be fun but as fans always be you can exaggerate it exessively.
As fan of your fandom you saw some crossovers with other games, animes, movies etc. But often the fans just took a step too far.
Take an example with a new hype of the Sonic fandom. Like in most popular fandom you can make a crossover with another pouplar (or overrated - decide which one you rather prefer) fandom - e.g. Pokémon, MLP, Naruto, Hetalia, Vocaloid, Disney ... ...

But some crossovers are in my view or in the view of others a bit too much. Maybe even out of the character on both fandoms.
Such something like Sonic with a new crossover trend with Pretty cure (I suppose that's Pretty Cure). Maybe that was an experiment of the artist or even a parody. But in all honest, Sonic (or any other character) turning into something like a magical suit what's actually for girls? In my view that doesn't fit. Maybe because Sonic is too cool for something idiotic like that.

Unless it's something like a parody.

I really don't mind that Sonic or any other character or any other fandom can do something cute and/or girly but maybe in an adequate mass and not in masses (you know, too much Baka Baka Kawaii Desu stuff and such). That would look probably out of the character or even ridiculous.

I admit, this kind of crossover has outdone a bit too much and I sadly disagree it because I think it makes the quality of both fandoms a bit worse. And we all know, making a fandom worse is just sad kinda. Maybe to answer this question why this kind of crossover is because the person thought about the box. But really, it's a matter of taste.

But on the other side. They're just fictional.

"SonicCure", "Pretty Cure Sonic" (I dunno which one is correct) (C) the respective person making this.

"That animation (along with its kin) was made for the absolute fun of it. Its meant to be humorous.

"I also find it amusing that just because they do this 'magical girl' transformation, its labeled as 'gay'. Like its an insult. So what? Its just an outfit. People throw male characters in female outfits for fun all the time and its just for the hell of it. Not to take it seriously and start slamming others for it.
"Its the same as the crossovers and whatnot. Is there some kind of Sonic Bible that declares we, as artists, are not allowed to draw crossovers in the fandom or we'll burn in Sonic Hell with all the recolors?
"You sound stupid right now. There's nothing wrong with doing crossovers, and by all means does it not ruin the fandom or make it a terrible place. Its the people in general that make it terrible, which the Sonic Fanbase is known for. Not for the content. Just the stupid people who argue pointlessly over their unoriginal characters and make stupid shit like your stamp here. You know, the ones who also throw a shit fit just because someone doesn't like their ships?
"Are YOU kidding ME right now?
"You're going to make a fuss and a stamp over something about someone drew for a few lols? Do you take everything minor and funny too seriously?

"Its not a big deal. It really isn't."

Sorry to say that but are you finished insulting me without knowing me who I am?
If it goes to me then I don't mind when someone makes a crossover. There are good ones I admit. But there are some what's just far away from the good taste or in other words - that just doesn't fit.
If you want to hear a suggestion it would suit way much better if that magical girl stuff would be merged up with something like Lucky Star or MLP but Sonic is for this characteristics way too cool for this kind of girly stuff. Unless it's supposed to be a kind of a parody.
I admit I cannot prove but I guess this is meant seriously which I sadly disagree this kind of crossover.

"I don't think I even insulted you. I said 'You sound stupid'. I never called you stupid. I also asked you a few questions, but none of this was directed at you as an insult. So no, I'm not 'finished' as I never started insulting you in the first place.

"Again- this was made for fun. Either that or it was animation practice, or something cool the artist wanted to do. I don't think anyone would explode into this 'SUPER KAWAII DESU DESU DESU' mode you claim, do all this work and animation, and then go about making other parts with different characters because they were that serious about it. If you've noticed, those who make parodies make better jobs at it than those being serious about it.
"Even if they were serious, why is this so wrong? Its fan-made and not canon. That alone should put you to a relief.

"It sounds like you're stereotyping. 'Girly' stuff? Is everything pink and blue to you? There's nothing wrong with it. Things are changing where gender boundaries are becoming weaker and weaker. This is a good thing. Suggesting that magical transformations should stick with female directed shows and anime because its 'girly' is just...really? Really now?

"If you can't prove it, don't throw a shit fit over it. I think your stamp is unnecisary and a bit insulting."

Okay, then I misunderstood it. But I need to stand that I might sound stupid when I want to raise my opinion (even if it might sound a bit rude at first). But I do this very rarely.

Surely, I agree with you that the creator makes practices with something new. And I actually like parodies.
And about cute and girly stuff. Maybe but I'd say in an adequate mass and not in masses. I saw that in some (bad) Animes (I don't want to mention one to avoid arguments) what make me thinking that's just too much for my taste.

So I ask to you kindly. And I had the worries that a kind of a crossover like this would be out of the character on both fandoms. And that would make the quality worse I'd say. Seeing out of the box might be a possible solution but think about it.

"Its fine to express your opinion. Don't worry if you sound rude about it. As long as you're able to debate with your opinion with others without coming to blows, its fine with me.

"I will agree, sometimes too much is bad. But look at the animations and then think to yourself how bad it really is. The poses are decent, the outfits are actually pretty nice, and the transformation process is clean cut. It really doesn't breach the 'too much' area. Which is why I find this pointless to rant and rave about, considering this isn't even what could be considered 'worse'. If you want to rant and rave about something, why not go after the r34?
"I could understand if this was something waaaaay out there. Say like, they had dresses on and squirting period everywhere with glitter and streamers and stuff. But that's not the case. This is, as I repeat, really not the worse and should not be labeled as 'gay' like its an insult. What's wrong with being gay, might I ask?

"I have thought about this long before this conversation when I first saw these animations. And I still stand by my opinion. This really isn't the worst the internet has to offer on the subject and what you've made here can offend a few people. Do you really want to argue the same case with other people over and over again?"

Azurelly In reply to HaunHyena [2014-07-11 13:28:20 +0000 UTC]

That's okay. I don't like doing fan wars either. It's always good to listen opinions from others, agreeing and disagreeing with them. As long as it can go well on both sides.

Maybe I set my limit a bit too much. I've seen a lot during the time which I need to say why. And after researching about this rule I think some things can be and some thing they should keep it to theirself.
In real life I don't mind when anyone is homosexual orientated. I met very kind people who're gay or lesbian.
But in the fandom of games, movies, TV-shows etc. I'm wondering why people turning characters who're -in my view- hetero orientated into the gays and lesbians. In that case I cannot understand the Yuri and Yaoi fans really. I don't mean that they're crazy or even stupid people. I like talking with them like any other ones. I cannot get it why they like it.

You're right. To argue it over and over again wouldn't come to a solution in any way. I respect that you stand for your opinion.
But I stand for my opinion about that. So I hope you're not that mad about that.
Maybe I exaggerated a bit with this stamp. So if I have time I'll try to change the title and the description about this topic one day or take it into storage.

You're welcome fellow.
Believe me, anyone else could make this opinion, too - or at least similar. No matter from where they come from. But sometimes I heard from others some offending messages without knowing me. The knew only the stereotypic things.

Yes, I agree with exaggerating but I had to admit that this was also pretty....unique XP First I had what the fudge! expression but than I passed it off as a unusual joke In my opinion, I just laugh and facepalm at how ridiculous and weird this is CX Gives me some good chuckles.

I'm sorry but... why does it bother you so much what other people draw? Why can't they create what they want, even if it's a huge waste of time?

I mean yeah, it does get annoying sometimes, but what it boils down to it doesn't matter what you think about what they draw and if they want to draw something they're gonna do it..

I know that people do what they have in their mind.

But that there are limits of good taste. And I find this has exceeded far away from the good taste. I know every fandom does but it's quite a pity that people tend to botch every good thing or make them that ridiculous what doesn't deserve to be.

i saw that too. animation skills aside, it botches the character purely for someone's headcannon fantasies.  kinda why i don't follow the sonic fandom that much anymore. (but then again every fandom does this)
