Description
"An Eidolon who is benefactor and malefactor alike, wielding Three Relicts: sword, mirror and jewel."
- Final Fantasy Explorers: Eidolon description
MUSIC:
(I'm wondering why they chose that a title like this. That suits more to the Eidolon Fenrir ...)
So then, a fan art from Final Fantasy Explorers I've been playing for some time. It's quite a fun game for those who loves Final Fantasy mixed with Monster Hunters.
And yes, the legendary Eidolons (also known as Esper, Summons, Aeons etc.) are here, waiting to the ones who want to challenge them!
~ Spoiler Warning! ~
Seriously, I didn't know that Surama, the one who helped you escaping from the dragon king at the beginning of the story, is actually a god!
~ End of the spoilers ~
This time, a drawing of Amaterasu (no, not that little wolfy from Okami
The concept is referenced from Amaterasu's image from Final Fantasy Explorers.
I sat long for the sketch on my paper but having only one image and then making a drawing out of this rendering (with the limited size of a sheet of paper) I managed making an adequate drawing.
Yet, I needed to expand the canvas size up to 8000 px X 6000 px (with 20 layers in a resolution of 300 dpi) which lead having a file size of 155 MB ... and just for the character drawing. I needed to make an extra file with the character icludes the background or else my computer would crash. Still the other file has a size of 77 MB
But it was worth making this drawing!
Enjoy!

Which one is this pic based off again? And what is the game like? Is it another one of those turn-based strategy games?
Platformers like the Sonic games have always been my kind of thing. For me to get into something like Final Fantasy, it'd have to start out pretty easy and teach me the ropes along the way, but having a nice cinematic story would also be awesome.

This picture is based off from Final Fantasy Explorers. It's kinda like Monster Hunters in a Final Fantasy garment It might have a simple story but it can be still entertaining if you play with other fellow players.
The actual Final Fantasy games are the typical RPGs with a turn based battle strategy. At least by the older games from Final Fantasy I to Final Fantasy IX. Maybe Final Fantasy X, too. The modern parts like FF XII and FF XIII (probably the upcoming game Final Fantasy XV, too) are a kind of active time battles. And not to forget their stories. For me, I loved the stories of the FF-games I played!
Maybe the video from this guy will help you to decide which FF-game you can play first ~> www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cnmq8H…
I admit, the battle system can be hard a bit on each game. But if you want to try one of this game out some day then I can recommend you to play Final Fantasy IV or Final Fantasy VI first

Well, you're the first who has not recommended VII.
I'll consider your advice. I found a trailer for Explorers, and it doesn't look like the game for me. It looks fun, but at the same time, it looks like a reward for long-time fans of the franchise. If I haven't played the older games, it wouldn't mean that much to me.

I really like VII but slowly I think that's getting a bit overrated Although the entire story is extremely great! But this is what I'd recommend you to play this as 2nd game.
It's your decision of course Explorers was very fun to me.
I need to admit, I started off with VIII as first game, then with VII and then with IX and the newer games. I missed the older games as well but after some years I came back playing these older ones like IV, III, and VI. It's never too late to play the older games I have the thought to replay IX again. It's my most favourite part of the entire series ♥

To be honest, I had no idea you made such an epic piece until I saw your forum post. (My own fault for not checking my inbox actively, probably still buried somewhere in there. )
Regardless! The amount of effort you put into the detail is something else! I can believe you spent countless hours just to make your picture this good. Those swords are so huge and fiery! With a dark background like this, the swords' glow is very accurate. The eidolon's pose is pretty good too. It fits for summoning a monstrous attack.

That's okay. My box was full of messages as well. So you're forgiven.
Indeed, I spent a lot of hours for this picture. The most time goes to the coloring on the character itself.
This Eidolon wields the swords at once in a row. If you play this game you'll know why. And yes, the attack is monstrously powerful just the Eidolons are.
Glad that you like it Koopakrusher! Thank you

Amazing! Your lights and shadows are dead accurate, and your use of intense, fiery colors is nothing to overlook either. You did well emphasizing Amaterasu and giving a resting area for the eyes in the background. Great work!

Ooh, the Aberrant versions. That means more fun to me!
Okay, they are hard indeed. But if you found out the strategy then it'll be a bit easier to beat them.

GeotheFox In reply to Azurelly [2016-03-23 21:16:06 +0000 UTC]
indeed! its kinda of a really fun challenge but sometimes it can be unfair at times.
(i manage to beat all but one aberrant.
and that one is leviathan in miha dunes he gives me more trouble with his tidal wave attack.)

Azurelly In reply to GeotheFox [2016-03-24 20:32:05 +0000 UTC]
Oh yes, sometimes it can be a bit unfair.
Aberrant Leviathan is really mean when it uses tidal wave. As Dragoon I don't know how to dodge if you can't defent this attack.
Therion can be quite mean as well...
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
GeotheFox In reply to Azurelly [2016-03-24 20:58:06 +0000 UTC]
yeah i was trying to get tips on how to avoid that horrible move.
every time i leave the cyclone and return A.Leviathan always starts off raging and using tidal wave afterwards.
Therion can be sometimes but if you have anything that protects you like deflect or cover its attacks are blockable.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Azurelly In reply to GeotheFox [2016-03-25 22:10:19 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I was thinking of leaving the cyclone but I had not that luck at all. The same reasons you told. Leviathan was always rampaging again.
Well, at least I could catch up with Phoenix Pinions and such.
Yes I really need a class change for foes like Therion. But I need to train myself to perfect other classes' abilities.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
GeotheFox In reply to Azurelly [2016-03-25 22:24:09 +0000 UTC]
well looks like i'll have to farm phoenix pinions just to survive it's tidal wave attack.
i've gotten use to all but the geomancer.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Azurelly In reply to GeotheFox [2016-03-26 20:45:26 +0000 UTC]
The problem is that you can take max. 2 Phoenix Pinion per quest. So that means you really need to watch out not to fall into an ambush.
Me neither. I got stuck with the Dragoon class. Maybe I'm gonna change it to Paladin or I could try with the ranger class.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
GeotheFox In reply to Azurelly [2016-03-26 20:53:20 +0000 UTC]
aw only two. thats not too bad.
yeah i got stuck with blue mage or paladin.
ranger class is useful since you can attack from afar the most funniest ability with ranger is barrage.
paladin is useful as well since cover protects both you and any friends that tag along your journeys and sometimes your monster allies.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Azurelly In reply to GeotheFox [2016-03-30 20:12:39 +0000 UTC]
Yes, with 2 Phoenix Pinion that rescued me for failing a tough quest though.
Ooh sounds fun. I find that the Machinist seems to be a cool class. Somehow I like the Artillery weapons a lot.
Yes, I found it out that the Paladin or the Knight class are quite useful for protection. My ability with swords is a bit humble but I think I can master it quickly.

GeotheFox In reply to Azurelly [2016-03-31 00:15:43 +0000 UTC]
yeah unfortunately i used up all two on the last mission on rank 10 " Final therion encounter" only to gain three pinions.
machinist is fun i like to use just firearms since i can duel wield two tiny bees
yeah paladin is easy to learn if you first us knight or dark knight just a bit more tanky.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Azurelly In reply to GeotheFox [2016-04-01 19:32:48 +0000 UTC]
Oooh, the last mission is quite hard to finish if you go alone. Even if I was quite good as Dragoon I needed to get some help from a fellow player who was a White Mage.
Yes but in the first hours I unlearned it wielding with swords as I often took the quests as Thief.

GeotheFox In reply to Azurelly [2016-04-01 19:40:01 +0000 UTC]
i manged to beat therion solo with a magic pot and a cactaur.
i use theif as well though but most of the time i'm horrible at stealing items from other monsters.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Azurelly In reply to GeotheFox [2016-04-02 18:54:52 +0000 UTC]
Then you had luck. I guess I wasn't careful enough so that's why I couldn't finish the last quest alone.
Ooh, I love stealing The trick is that the foe needed to finish an action and then you can approach and steal an item.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
GeotheFox In reply to Azurelly [2016-04-02 19:15:35 +0000 UTC]
it took forever but as long if you know it's pattern enough then get ready to block it since all of its moves are blockable.
Ah so that's why i couldn't steal even from an iron giant.^^"

Azurelly In reply to GeotheFox [2016-04-04 18:56:15 +0000 UTC]

Oh, an Iron Giant? I admit, they're strong and strangely fast.
