Description
Manga flash lines a very popular special effect in manga drawing. This tutorial is done in photoshop but I guess you could do it in other programs like psp I'm not too sure. The tutorial is pretty easy and understandable.Flashlines don't have to be used for manga purposes. You could use them anywhere you like to put a dramatic focus.

Finally someone who can convey how to make something useful in under a paragraph! ;A;
I wish I had found this earlier when I used more speedlines in my work than not.

Cool tutorial! Even though it's like three years old...I used it for this deviation (it's kind of dumb, but...enjoy it anyway. ) ---->[link]

I can't thank you enough for making this!
I'm a newbie with photoshop so I haven't explored many of it's features or effects. This helped me out a lot

You should really check the program out. It's really great and if you're into graphics, a must have. You can look around here for many photoshop tutorials.

Yes, so very sweet.
Normally i'm the indifferent guy that says 'no hugs', and then when someone hugs me, i release steel prongs that electrocute them.
Luckily no one hugged me yet. XD

Murak: OH NO SHE DIDN'T!
Mal: (radiates a demonic aura, eyes are completely red, hair floats slightly)
Murak: now to see what happens!
Mal: (grabs a taser before lunging to Azureluck and shooting the taser at point blank range directly into her spinal cord)
Murak: YAY, he finally did it!

great tutorial. I never thought of doing it with photoshop filter effects.
I have a tip to add, if you think the lines are blurry and you want them crisp, use "smart sharpen" effect, move up the "radius" and play with the "amount" until satisfied..
(set to remove gaussian blur)

L O L
So you drew all these lines one by one by HAND?
You are crazy. You could easily get the same effect with some N0ize.
π: 0 β©: 1
Azureluck In reply to DooFi [2007-07-26 18:21:28 +0000 UTC]
Yes I drew them one by one but on computer.
But when you use the noise effect you won't get the same results because manga flashlines mostly have an empty space in the centre. By drawing the lines to the bottom of the page you get the results.
