Description

' I loved you to the moon and back again

You gave everything this golden glow

Now turn off all the stars 'cause this I know

That it hurts like so

To let somebody go '

Summary: After their faithful meeting in the valley of stars where all was forgiven, the two star-crossed lovers attempt to rekindle the spark they once felt all that time ago. They meet once again to simply enjoy the warmth of one another, musing about what the future holds for them. But it soon becomes apparent that both Cole and Elliot's lives have changed drastically in the years following their untimely departure. While they can both look beyond the heartach of that past, will it be enough to ensure a future together?

Well, the end to this story has finally come. It's not exactly the end I had in mind for them; I went back and forth so many times for how I wanted Cole and Elliot's story to go. I thought of giving them a happily ever after, thought about going in the exact opposite direction too, with Sanguis getting involved and possibly entralling Elliot or killing them both for heresy. I really could not settle on the right ending for them, and that's when it hit me. Sometimes things don't work out the way you want them to, and that's okay. In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have done this plot on my own and found someone else to play Cole's love interest. It would have been a lot of work to go in the direction I originally wanted to go, and I'm just tired and have other plots I'd rather to attend to. I could never bond with Elliot from the start, so with this he will retire while Cole stays. Maybe I can find something else for him down the line as his story is far from over.

If I dissapointed anyone with this lackluster ending I do apologize, but again I think this is a good lesson (for me more than anything) that it's okay if things don't work out and it's okay to just let go sometimes.
Thanks for reading and for anyone who enjoyed their story! I do wish things could have played out a little differently but this bittersweet ending will have to do... Elliot may be gone but Cole's story isn't over, after all.
